Compensation payouts for those made redundant in the UK

Apparently my role is being made redundant. Sure as sh*t they will have to fill my role with a contractor if my number comes up in the meat lottery as my role is required for a reasonably lucrative contract. I'm not too concerned as I've already sought advice from a UK employment lawyer who has already secured compensation payouts for others who've been made redundant illegally by DXC in the UK.

Has this really happened? Anybody knows where to find more info on it if its true?

Such things have occurred in the past; what happens is that the employee leaves under a Compromise Agreement. The employee gets compensation in return for waiving their rights to take the company to a Tribunal or taking further action against them.
