I keep hearing about several discrimination lawsuits from the Sept layoffs - any info out there on what attorney firms may be handling ?

When I was laid off around 2012 I did sue them but not based on discrimination (I'm Black by the way) but for unpaid overtime. I won. I also received my severance. I have a job with a wonderful company and I make double what I made at Windstream.
“I never signed a severance agreement. I still still received my severance. Signing a severance agreement is relativity new. I was laid off this year.”
I call Bull Shrimp, collecting severance, was contingent on signing the agreement. Yes I did have a lawyer review.
This company needs investigated...in my opinion and what I have witnessed they sure do some underhanded moves not only with the employees but with the company finances too...
I heard several folks never signed the release and received the payout. Even if it was signed Not sure the signed release would stand up with - 50-100 plus in a class action suit.
Hello:
First, I AM NOT A LAWYER, I am NOT giving you legal advice.
With that said here is the deal. There are rumors regarding WIN lawsuits over the layoffs, I know of none, these are wishful rumors, sorry. Discrimination, you would need to show that WIN only let go a 'protected' group of people. For example, they only let go all males, or only females, only blacks, only muslims, only people over 56yrs old. A Google search can show you what groups are considered 'protected'. From what I saw they pretty much covered all groups, I saw young/old, black/white, all genders, religions, let go. But if you feel you have a case you should see a lawyer. WIN has dozens of lawyers on staff, I am sure what they did was checked over for any legal loopholes to prevent lawsuits. My advice for us still left, when your number comes up just stay calm, ask any questions you may have, and walk out. Nothing we can do.

If you signed the severance agreement, you can't participate...
I have “heard” the same thing, but I haven’t seen anything official. I guess you could look in Lexus-Nexus or ask an attorney. Both of those services aren’t free. Post something of you find it. Thx
