Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Sinking Ship

The ship is sinking and the experience is leaving...no matter how the CEO, VP’s, staff managers try to encourage the worker bees that things are beginning to turn around...the worker bees who are in the know ...know that this ship is sinking! So sad ... many employees wonder how the CEO can still be employed...what is wrong with the board of directors?

By author Brigette Hyacinth - “Employees are your most valuable resource. Yet many companies ignore and treat their employees poorly. Our system has fallen into a self-reinforcing command loop construct as follows: Increase shareholder value at all costs without regard for the human factor. Sadly, if you do not cure the cancer in the root of the tree, not only with the branches and leaves die; but so will the the tree. Unhappy employees cost companies billions of dollars each year in lost revenues, settlements and other damages. The loss of revenue can send even established companies into financial distress, with some even filing for bankruptcy.”

"On this Thanksgiving I’m thankful for all you ex employees"

Would be great to see you become one of those Ex-Employees, the only dead wood, is at the top!

The rest of us, actually worked, and didn't go on family vacations to the French Alps...

Stock, will soar in 2018, ROFLMAO

To the person who wrote about employees who have been there forever and stop bad mouthing Windstream...I for one did not get cut, I did not give Windstream that privilege...I chose to leave for many reasons the top one is the CEO along with several upper managers do not value their employees, show NO respect for their employees and they do not understand the concept that if you do not have an adequate experienced staff in place to deliver your multiple initiatives and objectives, you cannot deliver the goods. I was totally exhausted, stressed and saw no end in sight to the continual turmoil...I chose to leave on mu own will like so many others that are doing the same thing. I appreciate and thank Alltel for many years of service but to Windstream you have not only destroyed this company, you destroyed the motivation, the pride and integrity that so many employees shared...it is a shame.

Most millennial can't figure out how to pour piss out of a boot with the directions printed on the heel. Only a fool would think these kids could figure this jacked up network out.

Oldtimer - I say let the millenials take over. Lower the retirement age in this country to 55 and let them figure it out. After years of raises that don't cover inflation rates and diminishing benefits; let's see how they enjoy the abuse.

LOL, Millennial's, will figure out an antiquated network infrastructure, the only question is, who will be dumb enough to buy Windstream?

One of the "old guys" that spent many the hours fixing the mess, that WS brought on, the board should fire Tony....

Lol whoever wrote the millennials will figure this out and stop bad mouthing WS is an A-- and an Idiot!!! Probably the same 5ft CEO getting 1M +no less than an 188% bonus yearly!!! This company was built off the backs of all those people you trashed!!! An absolute insult for us folks still hanging in there that have tenure. Guess that means we all need to leave so you idiots can figure things out.

Please people, get a hold of yourself and deal with reality. The people WS targets for cuts are the ones that have been there forever. They love to talk about how things used to be and how great it was working for good old ma bell. Those days are long gone. And then the other misconception is they’re letting all the experience go. The new age millennial group will figure it out. This Company is heading in the right direction and once all the dead wood is out the sky is the limit. The stock price will soar in 2018 ! On this Thanksgiving I’m thankful for all you ex employees but it’s time you move on and stop bad mouthing WS.

You got that right...this was another reason for my departure...it is not about taking care of our customers...it is all about their continual greed...I couldn’t work for this company any longer their ethics, their loss of respect for their employees, and the constant change not to mention the continual turmoil ... just wasn’t worth sticking around any longer. Money is nice but personal morales in my opinion out way the monetary bs with this company! They have an upcoming employee survey...and elveryone I spoke to whether in PA, OH, NC, NE, KY, FL, SC all feel this is a total waste ... they take the survey because we are pushed to take it...no one is honest due to repercussions down the road.

You're right about the sinking ship feeling. Windstream has decided not to upgrade anymore of their copper fed switches with fiber. Basically given up. For years they have taken money from their customers being served by these switches and given them lousy service. Talk about ethics in the work place.

Now they are creating a new job title, Station Installers. They are to saying they will only be doing station installing. What a bunch of liars. Everyone knows they will be doing the same work as a CST but for half the wages.
