Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

There's no way to compete with these salaries

DXC is also partnering with WIPRO India to source cheap labor. Top Indian VPs are in unofficial meetings with WIPRO for creating freelancer accounts on the WIPRO platform.

DXC henceforth will work as a marketing partner to get business, serviced by a cheap Indian company (wipro) devoid of any rules regulations and standards.

Wipro opened a center in Mysuru (Mysore) and pays a monthly salary of Rs.15K (equivalent $230). Most labor intensive work including backoffice will be serviced out of that location.

Posted by @Q9WOUM0-4xho. Are the salaries there really that low? I mean, I knew they were low, but that's just ridiculous...

Welcome to the new globalized world my friend. Those Indians eat just 2 bananas for lunch. Rock bottom expenses with high amounts of labor.

It was just a matter of time before the "cheaper shore" workers would be exploited and get ticked off.

$1 per hour of work by a B.Tech is not bad. No doubt wall street loves the 'corporates' and the DOW keeps soaring. By Dec 2018 we might see DXC stock price at $150 and Dow Jones at 30K.

if in case US employees want to compete with these low Indian salaries, then they should be prepared to stoop low enough to cover their private parts with leaves. $230 per month is a 9.5 hour day and 6 days a week = 57 hours working per week (25 working day month)

that is approx <=$1 per hour of work

as mentioned by the other poster, corporate greed will not end easily.

You don't need people with B.TEch or BCA's, you need people who can think outside the box. Not just book smart , test takers. Someone that knows how (or was taught) how to debug.

Most I work with can only follow detailed processes at best and when things go wrong, they have no clue what they were doing and why and can't figure out how to fix it.

The old saying they can't debug their way out of a wet paper bag comes to mind.

Just saying

In the greed of making money and labor outsourcing, even metros/cities in India are facing the heat. Salaries in the USA/Europe/UK are no comparison, jobs will eventually be outsourced to India till there is no concept of job left in the USA/UK/Europe.

The jobs paying $230 are for hardworking freshers B.tech / BCA / Polytechnic Freshers.

B.Tech = Bachelor of Technology

B.C.A.=Bachelor of Computer Applications
