M-Go would never agree to a buyout. Why would she? She just started here and you think she wants that to be her legacy? Whatever it takes, she's going to turn this sinking ship around.

To the person who said that FP is going to stop making gender specific toys, you clearly know nothing about the FP business. Even if we wanted to produce only gender neutral toys we couldn't. From a financial perspective it would be a death sentence because in fact the pink versions of a toy almost always outsell the neutral version. For example the Pink plush FP Puppy outsells the "gender neutral" version by a wide margin. If you think the company is currently in any position to walk away from those pink dollars in the name of political correctness, you clearly have no clue.
Yo Dumbarse: Agreeing to a buyout is not Margaret's call. The BoD can easily overrule her. You know, with all of their collective wisdom that got us into this sh!tstorm in the first place.
In a way DT's success stands in glorious contrast to Mattel's current situation.
DT is a rejection of identity politics and political correctness by the same people who represent the average Mattel toy shopper.
However instead of identifying and capitalizing on this cultural shift, we of course are doubling down on PC ethos that Americans have definitively rejected. They elected DT FFS, how clearer a message could you ask for?
I've heard that FP is moving forward with an initiative to eliminated "gendered toys" and that they dev teams are being made to participate in gender sensitivity training. What's next? Gender neutral Barbie?
America is winning. Mattel is not. America saw a winner in DT and voted him in.
Really? I guess this is how DT won.
JB was a indeed a monster but there was a method to her madness and at least she knew/was familiar with product unlike the monkeys we currently have that are running this place into the ground. At least Jill recognized incompetence in upper mismanagement when she saw it and it didn't matter if you we a sycophant lackey or not, she would call you on it.
Her major mistake was buying the Learning Company under cooked books.
BTW, we currently have a micro mismanagement culture which is really working out..... not.
The last time Barbie was relevant was under Jill Barad. Enough said
Yaaaassss. That’s what I want. A CEO who is in product design meetings. Mattel can really do better with a more micro managing culture.
JB was a monster
M-Go is a No-Go who must Go-Go if she doesn't have a clue of who does what or why. However, everyone that high up never does know who does what.
The only CEO who kinda knew was Jill Barad as she had her nose everywhere when it came to Product Design. She never forgot a meeting if she didn't get what she asked for without a damn good reason and there would always hell to pay for if she did't get it.
Right or wrong, I gave her that....
As a leader, M-go has been slow to react, blind to accountability and does not appear to understand who is full of bs. She needs employees and investors to be her advocates, but each time she speaks, they are alienated! Things are getting worse not better!
I think people at her level only care about the shininess of their golden parachutes and how many eyes it will blind as they descend to the ground
