Nokia's IT management is completely clueless, which is disaster for a company of this size and reach.
Their experience and knowledge in both technology and people management leaves a lot to be desired. They are letting the software engineering group drive the infrastructure vision, which unsurprisingly means we end up with completely antiquated technologies and a vision that does not go further than "make sure we are still operating next quarter."
No matter what you were hired to do, you will end up doing things that are outside of your expertise and rank. They make it absolutely clear that whether you stay or leave is none of their business. Which is why we have the highest turnover in the company, especially in the past several years.
Get some competent managers into IT, Nokia, before you lose some of your best employees.
