Thread regarding IBM layoffs

IBM Blue Points

I have about 500 Blue Points, not sure what to do with it?

Does TheLayoff have any suggestions?

I had to call them on the phone (cafewell) to finally get to redeem the credit. They tried to walk me through it on the website, and as you found it's all screwed up, and finally they just put the order in manually for me. But I already knew what I wanted.

To the poster who redeemed the device voucher, can you give me some insight on what I need to do? I earned my credit on 11/27 (according to my cafewell dashboard), but when i tried to redeem, it takes me to a blank page with no available options. When I contacted customer support at the listed link, they replied that I missed a 12/01 deadline, even though I recited the 12/31 "redeem by" date that was advertised and that you mentioned. Would like to not miss out on any available benefit, however small. Thanks.

The best perk by far is when you register your personal credit card with the employee staples contract pricing system. I did that years ago, and it's amazing fun to go to Staples, buy a bunch of crap, and watch the total be cut in half or more after you insert your card and it calculates the contract price for each item (note, some things, like expensive electronics, aren't discounted but almost everything is in my experience). It's a beautiful thing.

I just used my $100 device credit from cafewell to get a free $150 fitbit charge 2, which I will promptly sell. I think you have until 12/31 to redeem this (if you earned it by doing the required modules) and it ain't easy figuring out how to cash it in.

Yes, spend it. There's some decent stuff. Use EVERYTHING you have available! And make sure you use every penny available to you from the Retraining Assistance Program.

Go to the shop and spend it - good luck, it's worth about 65 bucks...

The program is insulting.
