Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Increased firings

Is it just me or is DXC doing more firings lately?

Two people from my building were fired in the last two weeks, and I'm starting to get nervous about it. It's not like they were slackers or anything, on the contrary. Anybody else noticed something similar, or am I reading way too much into it?

Agree DXC Michigan should be closed down. Lots of corrupt, nepotism, favoritism, disgruntled, and backstabbing employees work there. They are proud of there accomplishments. But then again that is the kind of employee Mikey wants. So keep Michigan and make those employees more miserable Mikey they are loyal pals who enjoy this work environment.

Don't be nervous but prepare to celebrate being released from slavery and stress at DXC.

Just get out now and don't worry about it. It is an awful company and a horrible place to work. Life is much better elsewhere.

They don'r need skills or experience. The clue is in the company name.

In my case the criteria was:

1) Salary: $140k+

2) Age: 50+

3) Country location: Australia

4) Building location: a medium sized Account in a capital city location

5) Amount of dollars required to terminate you: $160k+

6) If you are below layer 4: yes

7) years with EDS/HP/HPE/DXC: 20+

In other words I was an expensive employee with years of experience and a high contributor to ML's bonus payout. I was more than delighted to get the chop.

I am so glad there are thousands and thousands of IPC addresses so they can't stop the truth from being brought to the attencion of those current, former and past DXC employees. DXC Layoff love to delete the truth. I Just did a query on a special application and found that there is still so much DEADWEIGHT in DXC Michigan. I still see former GM support employees still hanging on tight. There grip and clique must be so very strong on the inside. Mikey needs to AXE those at the top in Michigan. THEY ARE PROTECTING there chump pals. These men and women are actually useless. Can't someone or someone independent of management FIRE these clowns from management. They make over $100,000.00. How can these folks still exist within DXC even after all the crap that has gone on. They must have a real knack for communication and explaining there worth within DXC. FIRE those folks. What do these people do? I wish i could name names but that would surely get nixed. They have aged unexplainedly BAD. They look awful in there linked in pics, but then again most of those folks post a picture of themselves when they were 20 years old. FIRE those ex GM account folks. Its a network that can't be cleansed. Drain the swamp. hahahahahaha.

Not the slackers?

You imagine that this is based on any logical supposition of ANY kind?

Your performance, your skills (and the lack of those skills elsewhere), your criticality to some multi million dollar contract and a whole raft of other very real attributes have nothing to do with it.

Factors that do have something to do with it:

1) Salary

2) Age

3) Country location

4) Building location

5) Amount of dollars required to terminate you

6) If you are below layer 4

If you are earning say over US$70k, over 45 years old, in the US but not in Planno and a mere technical expert...

More expensive to get rid of people in Europe, but not impossible if by doing so cleans out a building and lets them close it.

In low cost areas, if the client you support goes, so do you. No point in struggling to move you to another client.

It makes no sense but McKinsey know what they are doing right?

DXC has a target according to the Investors Day slide deck, statements to the analysts at the quarterly earnings report, etc... They have a body count and dollar amount they want to hit by the end of the fiscal year and it will continue through to 2020.

It is not your imagination. Expect the layoffs to continue and accelerate through to the fiscal year end. At which point Mikey and the bean counters will assess and plan for the next round and pace of layoffs and cuts.

No one is safe. It is just a matter of time before the layoff train comes to a station near you (or someone you know)

You're not reading too much into it. I worked hard and got laid off a week before Xmas. Be careful and don't trust anyone is secure.
