I know everybody is talking about big layoffs coming in January, but I've also seen it mentioned that there will be voluntary buyouts offered before than. Any chance this is true? I know a few people who would jump at the opportunity, and hopefully safe a few jobs for those who want to stay in the process.

I did the VSP in 2014, best thing I ever did.
Don't think with the Bonds which is becoming worthless will allow Dell to offer VSP. So the the best thing Dell will do is layoff. Solution is simple. Follow the Earnings Report and Bond Market. Should give you a clear picture.
No way Dell will offer a VSP. Last time they did one more signed up than expected. This time would be a mass rush to the doors!
the dead weight over 10 years are mostly in VP and director positions so haha jokes on you. They are not leaving anytime soon or with a golden parachute.
VSP and additional layoffs will be good. Especially the dead weights who have been Dell over 10 years.
