Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

What's the latest news on layoffs at Aetna?

Anybody has any info? Something more than simple "yes, I'm sure layoffs are coming?" I've been hearing a lot of that, but nothing about where the rumor came from or something more concrete about it. We all know layoffs are coming, but do we know when and how many? Any info would be appreciated.

15+ years at Aetna and they use you up. Move you from team to team and they do not care. Maybe a layoff for me is a wakeup call. I can do better. Good luck everyone.

Me too....just at my 10 year anniversary. It was good while it lasted, and nothing lasts forever . But I hear the CEO has a whopper of a package of $$$$ and stock in cvs, but I sincerely doubt my severance will be anywhere in that ballpark...lol... maybe enought for a ballpark frank!

This is pure speculation on my part but I almost wonder if they are waiting to see if the new tax bill passes or not. If they will get the corporate tax reduction, it may mean not as many layoffs if at all.

I have heard about departments being "flattened out" with a higher direct report to manager ratio. That could be in preparation of potential layoffs, easier to identify similar roles or could just be good business to help align with 2018 initiatives.

I agree with prior posts, I don't think we will know more until we do hear about people being laid off. I still think something is coming but no idea as to the magnitude.

It is inevitable people need to really read between the lines. It is only a short matter if time

It's common when there are mergers or buyouts. We won't know when until they start happening. Unfortunately companies don't give a heads up on this.
