Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Tony Thomas and the failure of running a Telecommunications company like a business. Two many Chiefs not enough Indians

Tony Thomas,

You have failed as a CEO, you have failed as a leader and you have failed at growing windstream into anything that would keep people employed. Your lack of judgement in making the right decisions is uncanny and quiet sad. I just want you to know you have failed many and hurt many families by laying off hardworking and knowledgeable Indians. A smart business "CEO" would realize where the failures are and cut the ones who have cost the company. I was removed without cause and the messed up thing was being on vacation leaving the office everything was fine, but low and behold I was called on the last day of my vacation and let known my positions was being eliminated. On top of that I never received my belongings, I called your HR people multiple times and have yet to receive my belongings. I understand things happen, but to fix a company you have more workers, but instead you decide to buy two failing companies also known as "Earthlink and Broadview", but any strong investor or smart man would know buying two companies out of debit is a horrible investment. You don't care about the workers and you don't care about keeping enough Indians. All you truly care about is a big bonus and your luxurious vacations you always go on. You need to learn "Business 101". It's only downhill from here, I feel really bad for all the people who will be laid off soon. They're keeping the ones who failed at Earthlink and Broadview, and getting rid of the one's who helped build Windstream from the ground up. This company is going to crumble soon. When you layoff some of the people who drive the company up and work hard everyday for you and keep the people who have no clue what telecommunications, then of course you'll fail. Also, when you have an entire group of people who are in upper management roles because they're best friends with the one above them, or when you base promotions off friendship and not knowledge of the company, then you have this kind of problem. Your company is failing because of you and the executives who make decisions and have no knowledge of what they're even doing.

Congrats on hurting more families and letting the backbone of windstream crumble.

Tony Thomas is going to be fine. Layne Lavine is going to be fine. These characters aren’t those who cares about those who are working paycheck to paycheck. They aren’t concerned about those who depend on this job to support their families. They care not, by all evidence and action, about those who put their heart and soul into making these various companies better. There’s no concern about the customers who placed their faith in us in providing a good service.

Their actions, not words, show all of this. You know what? They will be fine. They have their money, their greed and lack of empathy. Wonder how good their lives and experience will be in the afterlife. Not for me to judge but it is something they should wonder and be concerned with.

Face it. Tony has run it into the ground. Dont ask employees ask the average customer. I heard one State Pres. say Tony should have been gone long ago. He would have stock at 10 post rev split 2 years ago. Although this guy is a BH he made some good points about Tony's lack of knowledge about the business and how he should put his Little hat back on with the propeller on top.

We all know TT is a garbage leader. A good leader is the last to eat. Definetly not his style. I think its too painful for WS to rip off the bandage due to his contract if he were let go.

"Two months have gone by since your post and no crumbling. I guess Windstream is okay, without you. Don't appreciate the drivel about our CEO."

Define crumble?

Want to start with the stock price. Stock price can tell a story. Reverse split, and the /5 is now under a dollar.

Look at employee morale, that's a big bellwether. had lunch with a former co-worker, with the ELK merger and layoffs he says it's insane the workload added.

crumble ? I think imploding is a better verb For a CEO, TT is a joke, should have been removed long ago, how the board of directors have any faith is beyond reason. I a real company he would be nothing but a footnote.

“Tony Thomas you have failed this company “. Sorry. I must of watched too many Arrow episodes.

I think most people understand that there are too many executives in the company. The best solution, IMHO, is to thin out the top layer and grow out the bottom layer. The various people in the hourly jobs are what makes this and any company run smoothly. You need the peons or you won’t have the support needed to maintain the various parts that deliver good service to the customers. Right now i just see one bad decision after another.

Haha! You think the company is not crumbling?! They just laid off a bunch of Windstream field techs and an entire legacy Earthlink noc. This is the 4th lay off wave to year. Have watched whole rows of people walked out and jobs sent to India then told we need to work with India to do a better job, yeah no crumbling here.

He should never have been CEO -- very much only a numbers guy (no people or leadership skills) and he always thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and will not tolerate different views. Everyone who every had a personality or any ideas of their own were run out from the leadership team. He totally owns this - I just wish the Board would hold him responsible. What's worse is I think he really believes it is all of the employees' fault for not executing his plan.

IF Windstream is hiring while laying off they are in violation of Federal mandated law. This has nothing to do with the union or being unionized or not. If anyone has evidence that Windstream is doing this l encourage them to call the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) There are multiple offices in every state. They will come into Windstream and pull records, they will conduct a full investigation...fine Windstream heavily and halt hiring. Also l am hearing of age and race discrimination....this is harder to prove but also violation of Federal Law...Call EEOC....call people..tell what you know!!....please.

I was laid off back in August 2017 and the company kept my personal belongings as well including money. Whoever did this should be in hell. How low can you be to take someone's money who just got escorted out and lost their job? This was actually my second lay off. I have no love for this place of employment of 15 years! Take your stuff when they escort you.

I think the response from Mr. Roy Rogers just doesn’t understand what is actually going on with this company...I believe most employees at Windstream have been digging in...it’s just our management teams as well as the CEO does not have a clue as to how to run this Company...the employees are like ground hogs ...they start digging in one direction and then all of a sudden the direction/guidance changes and then they start digging in another direction...this is why this company is in such disarray...this is why employees who have been loyal and dedicated are finally giving up and choosing to leave this chaos...

2 cents isn't "Worthless". Either dig in and WORK or quit pissing and moaning about how tough life is. S--- it up, take some Pepto Bismol and man up. People whining about how tough their work is, how they are just a number, how they CEO doesn't know how to run the company,...etc...etc... Waaa Waa Waaa,

The person who made this post is a victim here and has lost their job through no fault of their own. The fault lies in the corporate mismanagement of this company, so get off this person's a-- "Native American".

It sounds like this person tried to incorporate their life into the WS work environment. Nothing wrong with that. And making their space feel "homie" sounds to me like they were in this for the long haul and wanted to see the company succeed, homie.

So how about quit giving that person a hard time bc you don't know all the details of their situation. Their belongings are their belongings and HR owes it to them to pick up the phone no matter how you want to spin things. This isn't about this person's personal integrity or anything else. They were just telling you the sh1t that they have been through so shut up and keep your worthless 2 cents to yourself next time.

As a Native America , I am insulted by your racist analogy.

ps. What nick-nacks and toys did you bring to work that you want back so desperately? It’s called work, not put crap all over my desk to make it feel “homie”.

Kim Mladenik, how about picking up the phone and give that person a call? The least you could do would be to act professional and show them some common courtesy. You don't get to cut off all Communications with that person just because they are no longer an employee especially when you are in possession of their belongings. They need to walk you out the door.

I was laid off by the Alpharetta office around 2012 - I told you guys to join in on the law suit with me - but everyone was afraid.
