Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Seems like the Contractors and Outsourced workers are the happiest

Honeywell is now hiring big time (Engineering, Project Managers, etc) for the new T900 engine orders. Lots of subcontractors being hired (or going to be hired) and outsourcing going on, and all under the Manpower umbrella (now called TAPFIN). Typical to hire Contractors while direct employees being let go. Is this going to be how it is? No direct employees left, only Contractors? Honeywell must be busy......especially with the new engine builds for Boeing???? Anyone know the inside scoop about this?

There are NO orders for the T900 engine. The Army hasn’t even decide who will build it....GE or ATEC (Hon/P&W). The only contract ATEC has is for the preliminary design review.

Army isn’t going to decide between GE and ATEC until Q1 2019. Despite what your HON VP’s are telling you, this is a formidable battle and on multiple fronts. GE has counterattacked and has the Army fitting GE engine on the Chinook to replace HON’s T55....ruh roh. Now the politics, lobbying, and Congressman.....do you think that the govt is really going to have the Blackhawk, Apache, and chinook engines made by the same company....snowballs chance in Phoenix.....

My opinion is this will be split so if ATEC wins the T900, then bye bye HON on the chinook and hello GE

The outsourced "help" at DSES (pronounced di-sease)

were in my opinion a significant burden, and not a help.

I put a lot of effort in to help the outsource people, including Mr. "...Hey You Got A Fancy Shirt / Pants / Shoes..." who were unfamiliar with even basic uSoft Excel functions, much less PSPICE.

Just a f__ing waste of my time. I put in more effort helping these people stay afloat than I should have, out of some stupid sense of empathy that they had families, mortages, and maybe might become useful.

These people were making 90% of my pay, and they got paid overtime.

What a chump I was. The group that brought them in dumped them off into another group, might as well been intentional sabotage.

No luck on helping them become useful.

Wasted time that brought me down a notch pm 9-block / PIP for wasted effort on the outsource refugees.

The T900 engine is subject to export controls, so hiring "non-US" people for many roles shouldn't be happening even in so-called "support" roles.

You mean no US workers being hired, of course. HON cannot hire enough in India fast enough to replace us all. This is not the same company I hired into....
