I heard from a realtor friend that DNR is looking for new office space closer to downtown Dallas. Contract starting date is 06/2018..... every day another surprise at DNR

NOT moving. Blew that rumor out of the water. Lots of posts here are often just people worried about stuff that never happens.
Most energy companies are looking to cut overhead and bring down costs. Rather have them cut building costs than salaries/people.
The current building is leased but is on the market to sublease. They're looking for cheaper smaller space closer to 75/635 or just south of there to get overhead down.
The buildings are not owned by Denbury. We could do a sublease type arrangement, but the main issue with that is most other companies want an open concept type of space vs offices and moving, furniture, build out of a new space isn’t cheap.
I think the buildings are leased.
Has anyone asked Chris if Downtown Dallas is South enough for him? He might just take his top staff and move on down I-45 to Houston and set up shop. It would be closer to his friends and the Major Field Operations. DRI has already shown how loyal they are to the rank and file employee base, how about 3 RIF's over the last few years, everyone's job is up to be axed, except for his upper staff. I don't even think a large stack of pictures could save a job these days!

Pay particular attention to the half glass of eater people.

Seriously? I don't need 3-5 other people around me to be productive, I need to be left a lone to do my work. Geez, everybody's got a spin on crazy stuff.
I think they probably meant the 4-6 person bullpen configuration. That is actually a great office setup and many offices use it. It helps in employee productivity!
If a company has 6 people sharing a cubicle, it’s a crappy place to work regardless of their financial position. That’s not something to proud of.
If you have a job, you are in much better shape and lots. This downturn has been brutal. Let's not forget we all have choices to stay or go and find something better.
Many other companys that are Denbury's size, in much better financial shape, have cubicles sometimes shared by 4-6 people. Ya'll are so stinking spoiled and don't even know it!
"Closer to downtown Dallas" could mean anything. Even our old Tennyson building would be "closer to downtown Dallas, for example.
Also, it wouldn't make much sense to move us like they just did in November if we were planning to move out in mid-2018 anyway.
We lease the current buildings through 2025, I think.
If true, I guess the good news is they expect to still be in business by summertime.
Denbury is in the process of selling it's office mall in Plano Texas to try to raise capital and remain some what liquid. Things are VERY bad and about to get so much worse! I heard this from B.B. Land.
not sure what the advantage is to moving...doesn't seem like that would be cheaper...and moving costs a pretty good penny.
I would be shocked if this happened, we have a significant number of employees that are still at Denbury only because the office is close to home.
I don’t think we own them but leased them forever.
I don’t trust much around there but do you really
think we’d move? More people will quit, is that the goal?
We can’t grow in that building because there are very few empty offices. Unless they move us to cubes.
I thought we owned the buildings we currently are in?
I heard the same last week, most probably closer to downtown. Our current lease got already cancelled apparently
In downtown Dallas or just further south on the tollway toward downtown? Downtown proper would be bummer.
