Thread regarding Barnes & Noble Inc. layoffs

stop adding corporate jobs, save our stores

here's an idea: we stop adding corporate jobs that add zero value to the company and maybe we won't have to close any more stores for at least a year?

it's really infuriating to see e-books solely blamed for barnes and noble's drop in profits (which is true, not disputing that) but the issue of unnecessary new position on corporate level is never addressed. those people have salaries high enough to monthly cover at least five people working in stores.

this is only widening already strong disconnect between corporate and store level. it's like there are two different companies instead of one, and one of them is chipping away at the other to support itself, apparently not knowing that without it, it also has no reason to exist.

According to my store manager, there were cuts at corporate level too. District Managers all lost their assistants for sure and apparently other cuts were made as well.
