Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Atlanta Adjusters Layoffs and Call-Backs

What a pathetic excuse for a company. They laid off a bunch of adjusters in Atlanta and now are calling them back because they realized VA and QFC are a joke.

Then the ones they called back were informed they had pay their severance back. Allstate got the the finger from many of the workers laid off. Now they have such a bad reputation they have to offer sign on bonuses to get people to work.

Glen Shapiro has ruined Allstate like he didn’t Liberty Mutual. Also beware of Allstate’s DE division. These people are idiots and only create a negative environment where everything you do is scrutinized and micromanaged. They will not let you succeed.

None of the DE especially their manger are capable of doing anything else. The entire department is there to Control raises and build files to remove high paid quality adjusters to hire idiot college kids that can be brainwashed. STAY AWAY...

Yes, of course. $2000 signing bonus’s are “the sign of a failing company”.......A company with a $38 BILLION dollar cap, whose stock is trading at an all time high. An astute analysis of corporate success metrics.

You missed your calling.

Out of touch. Most, if not all of our competitors are paying signing and/or referral bonus’s, particularly for experienced auto adjusters. It’s called being competitive in the marketplace.

To reply to most of you, who I am does not matter. I was a DPA winner in 2016 and a top tier employee. I left on my own terms. Offering $3000 sign bonus’ is a clear indication of a failing company.

I agree with 90% of what you said, but posters here shouldn’t make blanket statements about “morale”, when they have exposure to one office out of 100. The office I work in doesn’t have low morale, and while I don’t argue that there might be some of those out there, it doesn’t mean it’s the entire Claim department. We get survey results every year that say 9 out of 10 employees are satisfied. If posters say they lie on those surveys, or respond positively under duress, shame on you. Things won’t change without honest feedback, which right now, is pretty good.

Just because the company is making money, and it's stock is doing well doesn't make it a good place to work. You get severance based on how long you have been with a company, not your performance review. Your performance review is what gets you laid off. If you've gotten written or verbal warnings, or if you performance review is low, you will be one of the first to go. All I can say right now is that morale is low, huddles are a reason for people to lash out at each other, or better yet, throw other people under the bus. No, it's not going away, yes, we have to deal with it, no, we don't have to like it.

I love the managers who follow this board because they are so bad at CI they need to come here to see real feedback. Keep drinking koolaid and if you idiots every have a ctc in mr shapiros grand scheme look at expansion of GENPACT and centralization and long term plan to cost offices. You are insults and poor excuses for leaders if you can't get feedback you trust in your "huddles."

Then you’re the only six figure adjuster in the company. You must be special.

I was layed off but Severance was not based on performance, in fact one of the people in my area that was layed off was a DPA winner. Thank you for your blind dedication though, someone has to cover my 6 figure severance ;)

The only way anyone got a severance, was they were laid off. It was based on an assesssment of your performance. You didn’t get a severance because you wanted to go.

Severance packages had nothing to do with performance or “ making the cut”. I had nothing but stellar reviews for 30 years so go stick your head back in your a-- and continue following the other sheeps to slaughter.

You were “offered a severance” because you didn’t make the cut, based on your performance and/or attitude.

Good riddance.

DEs are not idiots, unfortunately their actions are guided by a totally corrupt regime. I was told point blank that no one should get 100% on a desk review. Thank God I was offered a large severance when I was going to retire anyway and I am no longer controlled by the criminals that run the company.

It’s also nice that this genius has labeled an entire group of employees “idiots”. It’s obvious he/she was an underperforming employee with poor quality results and an axe to grind. Last time I checked, we placed our most technical adjusters, with the best quality results in these jobs.

Paranoid. Delusional. Genius.

Astute analysis of a claim organization that just recorded its best quarterly results ever, and a company whose stock closed at an all time high yesterday. Can you please drop your anonymity so I can hire you as a consultant ? It’s clear your business acumen would make you a great asset to any business. You’re a genius.
