Thread regarding Nokia Corp. layoffs

Layoffs are the new normal

Layoffs have pretty much become the new normal for Nokia. Constant corporate restructurings always come with downsizing, the only uncertainties are where and how many people will be affected. This is really sad, because the lack of job security is affecting otherwise truly enjoyable job, at least for me. Not sure where I'll be able to find a job that pays as much and has such good benefits (one of the benefits of Europe-owned company) if I end up on the chopping block in one of the future rounds we all know are coming. Hopefully, the trend of layoffs will end at some point, I'm just not sure how many of us will be left to enjoy it.

All I can say is - enjoy your last paid vacation!

And SAMSUNG/ERICSSON - if you're reading this -- there will be many wireless network engineers looking for a job in NJ-USA. Please set up a facility in NJ-USA so we can help develop the worlds best 5G network by former ALU employees with 15+ years of experience in wireless. We are all waiting eagerly to start developing a great 5G network (New Radio) as we once did for 4G LTE for Vz/ATT/Sprint. I know with our experience we can help you (Samsung/Ericsson) win majority of the east coast market share away from N since N does not seem to value former ALU USA experienced engineers. The moral at Nokia in NJ is very low. We (in USA) work the weekends and weekdays (Yes - 24/7 support) without overtime pay which is just unfair to the employees and their families to get the Nokia 4G LTE development code working (where majority of it was developed outside USA).

For reference -- call Vz/ATT/Sprint execs -- I'm sure they will recommend us for the job!!!
