Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Worst company!

Handing my keys over and walking out was the best decision of my life. The job was literally getting to me. Health and mental wise. I was with the company for almost 7 years and only making $11.30 and hour and was a management team member. The amount if work expected is overwhelming! Store managers do whatever they want....including leaving early all the time. They are suppose yo work 45 hrs a week and some are maybe there for 35 but yoy can bet they still get paid. They also are perfectly okay with a heroin addict working for them and allowed in the pharmacy. Doesnt matter he admitted to his addiction and was taken out my EMS one night...he kept his job. I was forced to work doubles and many times by myself. Company policy states that no one is to be in the building alone. Well guess what happened on Saturdays and Sundays a lot....I wad alone. And our store was in a bad area. There is much more but I'm going to stop. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. And seeing how they are to the point of not maintaining their stores anymore, they are in financial crisis. The city had to threaten to fine our store before the company finally hand the landscaping done.

I am currently a store manager and have NEVER worked less then a 49hr work week & average 54hrs usually & have worked over 80hrs a week multiple times. I can tell you there is not 1 store mgr in my dist that works less then 45hrs & most work 6 days a week. You just had a bad mgr & your dm should have been aware & fired him long ago. Dito a service request would have solved the landscape problem within 24hrs my shifts know how to do them why not you??

Sounds like store manager was sh--! Most SMs I’ve encountered end up working more than 45 hours. As far as them leaving you alone that’s an issue for HR, they will cut that out real quick.

As far as landscaping goes, that work order is also submitted by your store management. Usually can have someone out there to take care of it same day if you take 5 minutes to fill the request.

Hiring a heroin addict to the pharmacy??? Total idiots...

Sounds like you worked for a bad manager, that’s def not the whole company.
