Pension rules from USA government

Our USA pensions are not ending this year

https://www.pbgc.gov/about/pg/other/how-pension-plans-end

The government has clear rules on notification and we are clearly past the deadline for December 31 2017

But nothing stopping them from declaring an end January 31 or June 30 or December 31 2018

When, not if. they end the pensions it will affect different segments different. With all the mergers over the years there are many diffenent pensions. Bottom line, this POS compay will short the many many years of work from dependable and dedicated employees to make minimal gains to its bottom line. I hope honeyhell is exposed for how crappy they really are. Would be a great 60 minutes segment.

Basically even if you have already retired and are receiving your benefit from HON pension the company could get very favorable terms from Fly-by-night Insurance company and sell the pension plan. You would get an annuity from Fly but it is no longer guaranteed by PBGC. Instead your state insurance pool protects it..... up to a total value of $250k in my state. That seems like a big risk to me as my pension if I live to 80 would be worth way more than that
