Thread regarding Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) layoffs

Oh, well HPE! 18 years down the drain!

Laid off in May after almost 18 years. Oh and who is doing my work now... someone in Costa Rica they hired full time 1 week before laying me off...gotta love it...not

Meg & team don't care if they loose the age discrimination lawsuit. Those processes take a lot of years, and HPE won't exist anymore by 2019 (at the most, since we all know it's being broken and sold/merged in pieces).

Booted after 16 years, wish they had done it sooner for me to open my eyes. I'm now in a better place with double my old salary.

When I was laid off with almost 10 years of service (but in my mid-fifties, which clearly meant it was time to replace me with a hip, what's-a-happenin'-now kinda still wet-behind-the-ears young puppy), I was rewarded with an expulsion of gaseous gastroenterological byproducts, sent in my general direction.

Oh, and, the co-workers who had succeeded in making me look bad enough, such that I was laid off, and they were not, "rewarded" me with a gloating-away lunch, where I bought my own lunch.

But I am happy now; my stress, blood pressure, etc., is MUCH lower!

When I retired from HP in 2011 after 29 years my manager asked me what I wanted for a retirement gift. I told him as long as it did say Hewlett Packard on it I didn't care. Ended up with a $100 American Express gift card.

At least all of you aren’t bitter and have something else to fall back on... not.

I was cut after 20 years. Got to love the cheapo gold plastic badge.

I was eliminated exactly one month before my 36th service anniversary. The $400 engraved desk clock is nice, but the gold HPE retiree badge really pissed me off. Too bad I can't pawn the clock off. All I need now is my 2017 W-2. I am hoping that the employees that didn't sign waivers and have joined discrimination lawsuits fare well, but the reality is that only the lawyers will make any real money.

I took the retirement incentive in 2015 at 57. Decided I could get by on less and enjoy some freedom. Good luck to all of you that still need to work. Especially you boomers. God bless!

Good luck to all. I left in 2015 a few weeks shy of my 15th anniversary date. Couldn't trust the direction of the company anymore. In a much better situation now.

My turn was in early 2015, days away from being 20 years with the Company. Doing much better now after a brief period of turmoil. There are much greener pastures out there. Good luck.
