Thread regarding Follett layoffs

Who is there left to lay off?

I don't see how they can cut anymore. They have cut to the bone. Although the ivory tower is close enough to their bonus that they may use short term thinking and do more layoffs. They want their bonus.

So much this, @Q2Uvobg-jwk. Who is there left to cut? Unless they are planning to close the doors, I can't see Follett higher-ups doing another layoff round any time soon.

I agree. People act they way they are treated. Treated like they are the problem instead of the answer changes how people respond.

When employees feel disenfranchised from their employer, they stop feeling and acting like an owner and begin to feel apathy and act with apathy when working at their job. Customers feel and see this and are less inclined to do business with a company when employees lack enthusiasm and loyalty towards their company. In fact, I retired early and left the company when benefits started to be cut...I think eliminating profit sharing was a big one for me. Prior to that, I was proud of Follett, and wore it on my sleeves...to the point, that school administrators called me "Mr. Follett".

The almighty golden tower bonus dollar is king, they will reduce somehow, someway. Perhaps more benefits reduction. Eliminate 401k match altogether, FY19 no merits....you name it.

How's DG's plan to fire ft's and hire temps to better serve our customers working out?

The ft's with years of dedicated service and experience didn't jump at those pt, no benefit jobs @ $7.25/hr did they? Wow, and like the rest of senior management, always the smartest guy in the room. HA!

Yep, I am losing a great associate to Target, they are paying $11/hr, while Follett pays minimum wage.
