They will fire everybody else except worthless, arse-licking mid-managers from some south-European nations who have been hanging around Juniper for so long giving oral service to bosses for their own survival that they are now called "living fossils". Some of these guys fudge numbers, lie blatantly to their teams and upper management, can't write a single sentence in correct English, technically zero and miraculously get promoted to managers and NOT get fired.,

People in security pre-sales have been laid off in October because "there is no head count any more".

Anyway, who is going to buy a SECURITY business based on JUNOS?!! Why would they? What about support contract on JUNOS which is JUniper copyrighted?? No one will buy it. At the worst they will bite the bullet, scrap it as a product as Cisco has done to a few of their acquisitions and fire the BU.

No layoffs before February '18, However... the entire Security Business Unit will be sold and some will asked to hit the road anyway.

Finally the SRX won't be a Juniper product, and someone else's problem.

It would be too aggressive to do two sizable layoffs in two months. Also, with so many people leaving and planning to leave, is another layoff really necessary?

Was it a recruiter from Juniper?

More layoffs in December are quite possible, as Juniper has a revolving door. However, it is more likely a misunderstanding.

Well here is the scoop... During the past layoff, most employees who got a package were offered two months of Salary on the payroll (until December), and then three+ months of salary after that. I said most employees because some were sent home after being on PIPs - That is how Juniper sacks people to avoid paying a severance package and to avoid lawsuits.

In summary, though another layoff this December is quite possible, it is most likely the after effects, or the echo boom, of the October 2017 Layoff.

@Q14VCSk-5vld, you must not be at Juniper any more.

I agree that no good CMO will ever work for Juniper again. After the layoff last week, one VP reporting to the CMO was replaced by three in Marketing. Paying three VP level salaries, instead of one, in addition to laying off many individual contributors, who were very good and productive employees, doesn't make any sense at all. Surprising many of us were two surviving Directors in Marketing as well. They should have been kicked out months ago for ignorance, arrogance, and just plain incompetence. Not sure how they survived or what they did to stay on.

Engineering is much worse. The leaders that stifle innovation by hiring friends and relatives didn't just survive but got more recognition and power for their achievements.

At this rate, there is very little hope to bounce back and compete with the next generation of competitors, products or solutions.

Anxiously awaiting the next round of cuts in Q1, 2018. Could last another few rounds, I suppose.

Juniper will never get a real CMO. No one with a good reputation wants to work there for the reasons stated about "topics of interest". The place is out of control. They just virtual signal about the latest hot topics with no product follow through. That is why they have the CMO that they do. Someone with no previous background in marketing and someone who won't take a stand. It's all about politics at Juniper.

Dropping the references to s-xual orientation, s-xualality, and s-xual preference from the discussion.

Juniper has a tendency to aimlessly pick “topics of interest” and harp on them for a while, then pick a new set of topics and repeat. SDSN and Security are no different. KC’s “self driven networks” are in the hot seat now, and that is until the newly appointed CTO mouths out his favorite topics, probably on automation. It’s just a matter of time. Though these are relavent and useful topics to cover, they are just not well planned. They are not strategicaly timed to help promote products or corporate direction. Just the interest of a CTO or DE and their interests and self serving keynote rounds.

This is a huge problem. As these topics are not cordinated with product delivery schedules and presented to the sales teams and customers with any relevance to upcoming product announcements, it is extremely hard to connect the dots and figure out why these sporadic messages and newfound interests keep sprouting out of corporate. Who should be reponsible and doing a better job at cordination these messages? It is not so obvious at Juniper, because no one is in charge... with 100s of VPs, Senior Driectors and Directors who are all “very important”, there is nobody who can put there foot down and take control of these communications. Needless to say, usually this activity is handled by marketing, but with a clueless and spineless CMO this won’t happen at Juniper anytime soon.

To be clear, some are relavent topics, however, with various inconsistencies in regards to these “hot topics of interest” communications, lack of quality control in presentation materials and delivery (laced with condescending questions, as mentioned earlier), poorly managed timing and cordination with products, and most importantly not being aligned to a corporate strategy, are the main reasons communications and education efforts at Juniper fail and is just not working out as well as it should. Fix it RR!

Maybe the next CMO is smarter, and realize these problems exist as she observes them from the deputy’s seat, and address them when she gets promoted.

@Q14VCSk the day they resolved to bend to start b--ching about SDSN and SDWAN without any viable product or solution for them. In UK they forced the entire team to attend nursery like classes every other Friday where a self-important lackey would "teach" security and ask very critical questions such as: Name 3 ransomwares. That's when they needed heterosexuals because the b--ches demand they get their fill.

I thought fag harassment was the problem at Juniper. When did Juniper start hiring heterosexuals?

@Q14VCSk-2bmu Discrimination? Harassment? Really? Are you in EMEA? Did a sensitive part of your anatomy get harassed ? While getting harassed did it feel discriminated because it got more focus than the rest of the anatomy? Well, if so, get used to it - working at Juniper in EMEA means bending over and taking it in sporadically without prior notice from South European managers who tend to "manage" mafia style. Welcome to the wonderful world of Juniper values. We aim to perforate.

I can't tell you how many people I know of from my group alone who have hired lawyers and had settlements with the company due to one a--hole VP. HR just complies with all the sh-- that he does. Perhaps those who didn't settle with the company should band together and raise a stink. The last thing Juniper wants is a PR nightmare, but that is what it seems like it'd take to make Juniper actually do something about it.

I would agree, but the harassments would not be just s3xual in nature. There could possibly be lots of harassment lawsuits at Juniper, considering the unprofessional and inexperienced management style of many managers, their arrogant behavior, and HR willingly ignoring complaints.

Next big shakeup will be a wave of s-xual harrasment lawsuits, investigations and inevitable firings.

Juniper puts Hollywood to shame with managers, directors and VPs misusing their power to hire and (s-xually) harass women, as well as men. Extra-marital affairs discussed here are just the tip of the iceberg. There are many many more scandals that will surface.
