Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC bring a global company should pay employees worldwide in US dollars

DXC bring a global company should pay employees worldwide in US dollars. Only then there would be real competition and cost cutting benefits achieved. For the employees in the USA it would be just the same. For employees outside the US the employees would open Dollar accounts with the bank instead of a local currency account.

This would not only help prop up the US dollar but also standardize accounting, comparison, etc worldwide.

any views ?

US dollar is a worldwide currency just as DXC shares are held y investors world over.

Why not pay in US dollars even if DXC is paying lower ? why is there a middleman eating a whole lot of currency difference in the name of currency

USD/CAD has rocked 20% in 2017 but what is paid to the employee is CAD (Canadian Dollar) even though its value might have fallen for 6 months. The expense to the company is the same. In value received by the employee may not be favorable to the employee.

Think about it. DXC should start its digital transformation in paying US dollars wherever possible.

then no need of a salary hike, since your salary is higher by 16% already.

USDCAD (US dollar vs Canadian dollar) was 1.4 on May 1, 2017. On Sep 1, 2017 it was 1.2

that has made the currency cheaper/costlier by 16% considering the above.

Had we been paid in US dollars we could convert to CAD when conditions are favorable.

That is just stupid, what difference does it make in using the US dollar or local currency ?

The accounting systems are smart enough to convert from one to another for reporting.

Who is this idiot that posted this originally

Hahahaha! Yeah, right.

I will open (and pay) another bank account just because of this. And accept any kind of losses resulting from the conversion rates.

This was a good one.

US is not the heart of the world ..... only few hundred millions of people.

Even ATM's would charge conversion for the country you're in. Even if we all tried the backdoor method of using US credit cards with low exchange rates - like capital one or chase - the rent and utilities would still not accept card payments unless the cards were issued from the country you reside in.

Is this someone from Mikey's finance team trying another of his asset-stripping ideas?

I agree, paying everyone in ₹INR or failing that perhaps introduce a barter scheme involving poultry, where tax can be levied on the amount of feathers it has.

Yup. Everything revolves around the US doesn't it? Only it doesn't.

I've got a better idea, why not make DXC a proscribed organisation in the UK and get rid of it's shoddy attitude to employees once and for all?

If the US want to continue to tolerate them fine.

what's the benefit for employees outside the US? Who takes the risk of convertion rate? And do you foresee that opening a dollar account is free of charge?

Surely it would make more sense to pay employees in Indian Rupees considering that's where most of them are based these days.
