Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

Town Halls to explain how to be walked out!

Another stellar performance by executives and "Department Managers" to current remaining employees to explain the "Resetting of CBI", what the severance package that the worker bees will get, and how to be walked out. Really??? A little late boys! After hundreds of employees were ambushed at their offices/desks and marched out under police escort, you decide to hold meeting now? Did you just find this site and realize that the very people who liked working for CBI got shafted and are upset how HR handles things? Is sad that the same mgt team that drove this company into the ground are still there collecting their a biweekly lottery. You want a Reset? A new Company, Vision, Goals...... clean house Mullins! Every SVP needs to go. Department mgrs...... go. Listen to your employees or the only new vision left will be when this company is bankrupt or bought out and your looking in through the windows like the rest of us. Of course we don't have the same parachute you and the good old boys get!

Qtr 3 closed. Let's see what happens when you have to announce more losses even with the massive layoffs your and your "reset leadership" have come up with.

Everything is up for sale, their cash flow is negative. Selling Tech is the only way to stay alive. At the end of the day it will be back to building tanks, that is all it will be. The highly paid executives who stood by watching the former CEO destroy the company will now get to see the ship go down, will they stay to watch?

CB&I is a joke in the EPC world. HR is the most sadistic department in most companies now days and especially at CB&I. They are very unethical, it is all politics.

When a company does not care about it's employees, it is just normal that the employees don't care about the company. Let the executives have it and see how long it last. Better wake up America!

We must, indeed, all hang together or, most assuredly, we shall all hang separately. If management admits there will be staff reductions people will leave on their own. If management admits that going bust is possible you will go bust. Management is trying to control a bad situation. We all need to be willing to take one for the team. Denial is not just a river in Egypt. It is how CB&I will live to see another 128 years.

The whole company does not know how to manage a project and keep within budget

Design drawings are worthless garbage done mostly oversea

Causing field construction problems and big cost overruns

How they have stayed in business is a miracle

I worked 30 years with Fluor went to work at cbi about 5 five years ago and. I told them their problems and was fired

This new CEO needs to wake up and cull that useless construction group from the SVP on down!!! This "executive in charge today" needs to do a real industry search for real construction management because the current Construcion group in power today has proven they know nothing about construction.

HR, that is a complete joke. CB&I does not have a human resource department. The benefits are subpar, the administration of those benefits is non-existent. Management at that company doesn’t know the first thing about career development and never will. The CTP program is a bunch of know it nothings who run around and burn money while giving nothing back.

We are not moving. But the question was whether we are selling. If we ain't selling the building and moving everyone into Bldg 2, what are we going to do with all the extra space. Look at all the empty offices and cubicles. 15 percent or more will be gone by year end with sale. What are we going to do with all that extra space. Are we being mislead or managed. Dont want to admit any of the funny rumors are true? What else won't they admit. Layoffs? Why because they want to control who leaves? Is that for you or for them. Bankruptcy. Banks will make that call.

More layoffs........ you can count on it!

Corporate selling everything of any value to whomever has cash....... you bet!

Is bankruptcy a possibility..... without a doubt!

Has an offer to buy the company been made and presented to the board and shareholders........ Shhhhhhh! We don't want the shareholders to know.

Which project is successful...... none!

Is management hiding and issuing video message instead of facing its employees.... your g_d damn right. They don't have the

decency to come tell people face to face. Instead "management" sending in the worst of the worst HR department ever to count heads of the remaining employees to come watch a video town hall.

Where is the SEC investigations for fraud? .... coming soon

They still pay for country club memberships and have one huge legecy cost from the Shaw purchase that no one even knows about. It’s in the millions a year. My question is why haven’t the external auditors walked out, are they blind, I mean every other CPA in that company left for a real reason.

Hearing that the latest version of the TownHall now includes a video message. How nice! Mullins could be driven down from the palace to tell people face to face? Nice!!! Another *u$$y

I liked the part about how cost control was "unfortunately" not limited to staff layoffs but also included cuts to exec perqs. Freudian slip.
