I heard that UHC laid off 750 people last week from the Quality department.
Dies anybody know if this is true? It seems like a really large number of people to simply fly under the radar, but I haven't heard anything to indicate that this many people were let go. Can anybody confirm or deny this?
UHC is no longer submitting any of the work to quality. There will be a random spot check for errors. Good luck to our clients. Sorry to everyone who lost their jobs today.
What about the recent round of Quest cuts in May? I hear more are coming in August
It's definitely true. Our supervisors are now doing our quality instead of the qa department. Scary part is, some supervisors no longer know how to do our jobs or what information is correct or not.

Someone I know is working there.. The tl is very very rude and I guess everybody is in panick mode..
It is absolutely true. I was in a leadership role and almost my whole team was let go as well as my manager, associate director, and director. I was on an Hr call outlining our severance info and giving us instructions with over 950 others that had been let go. We had staff from C&S, E&I, as well as M&R in our division let go.
It is true and there are more to come. I hear they space the layoffs so they dont have to make it announced publically. take a look at headlines of lawsuits againsts UHC and what they have had to pay out. Quite eye opening.
I was one of them as well, my gauge was around 200.
This was UHC....multiple quality teams and programs eliminated across e&i, c&s, and m&r lines of business.
I was in E&I and was impacted. Was told I was let go because of duplicity.
E&I, M&R and C&S, quality positions cut 50% across the board. Layoffs for business and IT will continue for the rest of the year. It's all about money and paying to build Polaris, over 20 Mil per month and they can't deliver a quality functional product.
There are hundreds of quality departments through out all lines of business: M&R, C&S, E&I, Duals, etc. Which line of business and what specific quality area?

Entire functional teams within the Quality dept. were let go......from director level to middle management to their core staff. I was in a leadership role and unexpectedly fired during the 09/26 notifications. I have not heard how many lost their jobs, but 750 certainly seems plausible. Everything i have seen indicates the Quality department has been shaved down to bare bones.....will be interesting to see how they manage to effectively operate and get through Q4 and open enrollment with so little staff remaining!
