Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Unemployment Benefits 8/10 RIF

If you were impacted by the last RIF, please comment and advise whether or not TWC has approved your unemployment benefits. Myself and several others have been denied until our severance weeks end while others are receiving payment. This is inconsistent with previous layoffs, so I’m just curious how many are actually receiving payment right now.

Because the severance was reported to the state, no one should receive benefits for the time covered by the severance (12 weeks min). If you got unemployment before that, then it was either an error or you had to lie and deny that you got the severance.

I was approved and received benefits but got a call today stating the employer had released new information and that I would learn in 2-3 days if the funds I've received and/or future funds would be impacted.

I was denied benefits until the time equivalent of the severance payment ends. I heard that the approval/denial depended on who reviewed the claim at the TWC.
