Layoffs are not a solution

Many of those hit by the last round of layoffs are highly skilled and trained engineers and operations management with Masters degrees. I am proud to have worked with these exceptional team. The rapidness of the change - and some groups that had no immediate expectation to be let go - is causing a but of frustration and is understandably pissing people off. The company will find that many projects and day to day support efforts for L1, L2, L3 will be impacted, site down, business lost. But that is the cost of such a transformation and the dissection of what used to be a fantastic company to work for.

Agree with you completely, @PvXz9LT-2aol. I am honestly not sure how can they not realize that aside from a short term quarterly profits bump, decisions like these will cost them much, much more in the long run. But I guess short-term thinking that is good for their pockets is all they are interested in...
