With such constant uncertainty and fear prevalant in the organization, people will look for other jobs. In such a scenario, natural attrition will happen and the firm might end up losing good resources.

There is a need for the leadership to put rumors (if they are) to rest by clearly stating that there will be no layoffs. Otherwise the planned recovery will never happen.

Reply to "IF there are no layoffs, all funds should go to a celebratory taco Tuesday." is a perfect example of a Sabre leader who believes Tacos/food will address employee issues/concerns and uses this as a "tool" to be good manager at Sabre. Your comment appears condescending and very defensive of a failed leadership....like you are personally offended. Spare us all of the "world is a bad place" and accept that Sabre is not doing well based on its own leadership.

Those who claim layoffs will happen on 10/9 and those who insist they won't should put their money in a pot. IF there are no layoffs, all funds should go to a celebratory taco Tuesday. (And those in the right can forever be smug about calling it...and taunt the taco-less losers until the end of time.) But IF layoffs occur, the funds of those saying they'd NOT happen should go into a pool for those who claimed they would.

Clearly, it's a tense time, and comments about how people should put the effort they put into speculation into working don't help (even though healthcare, income, and livelihoods are on the line for many people -- so perhaps be a bit thankful if those fears don't impact you). The blatant racist posts and anger and so many other things don't, either.

It's a nice thought to go find a better job, but most places will have these same things occur in time. (That's simply the way companies work today.) It seems a good time to try understanding fears and being kind to each other, because this is the way Sabre operates today...and if not now, at some point down the line, we may all find ourselves on the receiving end of a layoff. (Or not...)

Hope all of you who throw these lies to scare people can show your face next week when nothing happens.

Looks like this thread was started by the incompetent Sabre HR team.

This only confirms that the rumors are true and that HR is taking these posts seriously.

Just wait and watch. We are already in October. The cuts are happening this month

"If ya'll focused on the business and the software like you focus on layoffs Sabre would be in a far better position."

Seriously, there's nothing better to do at Sabre. Will continue to twiddle my thumbs, pretend to work, and keep looking for a better gig. Directors/VPs are so swamped they hardly know what needs to be done especially since they are locked in meeting rooms all day.

Fake news by HR. I bet they are worried about the rate they are bleeding talent. How about thinning the HR herd? The overbloated 80s processes with expensive SAP tools waste everyone's time. Two reviews a year, talent review, blah, blah, blah. A good manager communicates with employees all year long. Also why the hell do bonuses get awarded in Q3/Q4 for last year's performance?

Strange, my source suggest about -10% in US before 2018 including natural attrition & layoffs below public notice limits ...

No more in 2017 where they can make the list more huge for 1st quarter instead? Option 2 is they aren't laying off, but the company acquiring business units WILL
