Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

DXC lost SHELL account

Clients are starting to leave. Reminiscent of when first ML joined CSC 5 years ago. The Exodus begins.

So the rumors were indeed true. I survived the shift working for DXC through Modis to support Shell and their piss poor compensation. TCS may not be perfect, but the change from DXC is astounding. Market rate salary, great health coverage, and training. Level above how DXC was treating us. F

I am shocked that professionals would behave the way they are with their language. To me if you signed on to this contract and willing accepted the salary then really you need to perform like you are making 100K a year. If someone kidnapped you and you are a slave to the environment then perhaps you have a reason to complain. No one is to blame, nothing is perfect but we should build our goals up and work our way back to the top.

Never accept a position that you feel needs to make you happy, always keep in mind you are here only because they need you to make them happy and perform miracles.

Lets act like adults and stop pointing fingers like we have something to point at someone else! I am proud I work for the contract through Modis for DXC for Shell (Wow a mouth full). I hope our transition takes place soon with TCS and our jobs once again become more stable. I want to work my way up by giving 150% and caring about my work.

It is true. Instead of laying off management resources who earn more money and knows nothing about the account or operations, DXC prefers to lay off resources with the know how skills and knowledge to maintain and improve the client's environments.

IT landscape changing. Even with the new contract, the whole contract value is getting smaller and lower.

Client want innovation? Yes, but the innovation is about how to be more effective and cut more cost. Indirectly cheaper.

Now, everything is about money, cheaper cheaper and cheaper.

Who to blame?

Blame the CEO and his direct team because of taking 30-40 million USD away from the company.

Blame all the account team, because of keeping people onshore with high cost.

Blame the manager, less skill to do more.

Blame the employee, because try to gain more salary, with lesser job.

Contract signed in the way that every year, we need to return extra 5-10% saving.

So, everyone in the organization should get a paycut every year.

Come on, world is changing. Everyone need to wake up. Know the reality don't stay in fantasy.

no doubt. It was mentioned this week by a Shell CxO at an IT conference. T-System continuous the DC services, although in a multi-vendor approach with Dell.

TCS contract is signed and will take over from HP. The CxO struggled with new name....

Blame it on the managers, lack of technical skills, nothing to really show the customer in terms of improvements, avoiding calls by pretending to be busy with something else, has finally gone against DXC in terms of contract renewal.

In any case, the management must bear the blame as they are the ones who call the shots, who showcase their crap and waste precious time of the engineer to do all kinds of non-technical work that they themselves should be doing.

Until the engineers wake up to the fact that the managers are their worst enemy nothing will change.

It's the truth. Workspace, service desk and onsite contract is awarded to TCS. Transition is to begin Oct 2017 to June next year. This is transparency. Ask the account manager if in doubt.
