Layoffs should handle the too many managers situation

Yes the good ol' boys network needs purging for sure. Too many managers with no reports making six figures just hiding in the wings. Too many redundant management positions that are not needed. Hope they finally get it right and purge them.

@Pt5LAn4-cmb is right. Layoffs should first and foremost deal with this situation. This many managers are nothing but dead weight on Micron. Half of those positions could be vacated without any impact on our work. But we all not this is not going to happen. Managers will be safe, people who actually do stuff for this company will be let go, and those who stay will have to do twice as much for the same pay. Sad but true.

Individuals who stay until March 2019 will be given additional severance? Did you get that in writing? If they extend that or change that then what?

same at the Singapore site! Need to cut a lot of unnecessary manpower there.

The new CEO has no connection with the "old management" and no connection to Boise or how things have always been here. Perhaps he will demonstrate fairness when purging employees as a leader that knows an unneeded manager is just like an unneeded hourly. If you don't need them you don't need them. We can only hope for fairness.

No managers received a leave date nor did the supervisors; however, the poor supervisors will be held responsible to carry the weight of the individuals let go. March of 2019 most hourly waged individuals will no longer exist in MTI backend. Anyone who leaves before their leave date given will receive no severance package. The individuals offered who stay until that March 2019 date will be given additional severance package pay.

Will never happen. Managers are rarely let go at Micron. There are some terrible ones and nothing ever happens to them.
