Thread regarding University of Phoenix layoffs

Anybody else having a lousy day?

I'm getting ready to go into work, but my stomach is in knots. Today seems to be the definite D-day for layoff from what I have both heard and read here, and I am pretty sure this time it will not miss me. I remember a time when I used to like going to work, but now it's more torture than anything else. In any case, good luck everybody.

It is true there is life after Phoenix! Its hard to say don't worry but don't! What is next and this was from a meeting 2 weeks ago from leadership and Peter's team and that is getting rid of the people who recently located to different states that got pay increases. They are several hundred and they are cutting off anything they can. Additionally the college of social sciences is dead. I know we won't be carrying it anymore.

Seems like this is more geared to campus closures than us online folk here in Phx. To the person who wrote "Confirmed", could you please elaborate?

Sad day as layoffs are happening now. Maybe leadership should just ask who wants to leave and give packages to those that step forward.

It's sad to see the place that you worked at for a long period of time go downhill. So many of the VPs and deans are/were deceitful and out for their own gain instead of doing their job and taking care of business and their staff. It seems lately that many of these 'upper echelon' human beings are unavailable for any conversations and they are moving their 'yes' people into positions they are not prepared for. Time to move on, people.

Hang in there! There is life after UOP. I was laid off earlier and found a better job where you are treated like an adult. The grass is greener.

I feel ya...I heard about this earlier this week. Then, it was a blurb in the President's message where I had to read between the lines. I hate to go, but if I do, it is just my time.

It will work out. I got laid off earlier this year and now I have a better job, not afraid of layoffs, and love my life again.

There is life after Phoenix.
