Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Furlow option

I have 'earned' 4 weeks vacation based on time of service. I can't really take it because things are so lean that you can't recover from time off - or are pressured into thinking that it will reflect bad on you. Salary is the number one cost driver - why not allow a voluntary fur-low? leave your phone, laptop, etc in the drawer and take a real vacation - not an Intel pseudo vacation where you are still plugged in. There is a lot of money to be had here - and the employee is guilt free enjoying real and un-plugged personal time! For the better good. So we can afford travel, expense, and capital needed to actually compete in this world!

I was non-exempt at Intel. We had unlimited unused sick-day accumulation. Got paid whole year's income when I retired, just from unused sick days.

Don't be silly. Take the vacation. You will likely be fired regardless of your personal sacrifices. Ask the 30 year veterans laid off over past few years. Besides, eventually we will all die and at that point God is not likely to R&R based on how few vacation days you took.

I did over 13 years at Intel. Was only ever able to use my full vacation 2 of those years. Use it or lose it policy, so try and use it, but I understand the pressure to meet deadlines.

Always take all of your vacation. Vacations increase your productivity.

Schedule it in advance so that it's unknown what the current crisis will be when it comes time to take it.

I worked at Intel for 3 decades and took every day of vacation - every year.

Should be a few thousand manufacturing TMG employees waiting and waiting and waiting for the fix 10nm for more than a year now.

I'd think it would save a lot of money putting them on unpaid vacation before their four years of hell soon coming.

Use that money to hire a few ACTors to help them fix 10nm, as those in Hillsoboro bafoons clearly are failing to delivery anything but spin

I've asked this a bunch of times. We did this many years ago in TMG but seems out of the question today

You are slaves and we get more out of you by working you.

We like to instead waste money flying business class for FtF staying in nice hotels, sponsoring Olympics and the recent big show in china.

To pay we will have to ACT
