Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

November layoffs at Pepsi

Yep, I'm hearing pretty well substantiated rumors about a November action in Plano HQ also.

November seems to be the date that gets repeated among employees who overheard or know something, and around the boards I've been checking. It would be nice to have concrete confirmation, but we all know we will not know anything for sure until the actual day.

Morale at FL Headquarters is at an all-time low. So sad to see. Poor leadership decisions across the board.

That's cute. No one gets a package anymore! They convert us to Cognizant employees and Cognizant dumps us through "benching"...a practice where they pay us to find another position at another account because you've trained someone in Chennai to do your job for pennies on the dollar. The bigger problem is that there are no other positions at other accounts and there's no one to help us look. So after a few weeks they cut you. Those few paid weeks are the new "PepsiCo package".

Has anyone heard if the CSC in Winston-Salem will be affected? The sales side was unfortunately taken over by Cognizant, but the MEM side still falls under Pepsico.

We continue to here 10% by November. I hear each department is being asked to cut 10% of expenses. I'm also hearing the 70 rule. Add your age to your years of service. The closer it gets to 70 the more likely it is you will get caught up in the layoff.

Yeah, I am hearing 10-20% as well, but I am not sure if that is people or budget. Either way, there is only so much you can do with fixed costs. Wonder if they will provide an early retirement option? Would be smart to do so - I think a lot of people would take it!

I wonder why they keep expanding the parking lot if they are laying off so many people at FLNA HQ? Although I guess you could fire 2 employees and hire 3 H1 contractors for the same price probably.

Not just "layoff", I keep hearing "mass layoff", like 10 to 20% of HQ and more chances in the field

I'm surprised they will layoff considering so many people are leaving on their own for much better jobs, HQ is one sad apathetic place thanks to all our world class leadership, everyone is just checking the box and leaving early. A lot are hoping to get a package so they can flush the pepsico part of their career and move on
