So... how is it going? What are sales looking like where you are?

The bursars office at my college told me that Amazon is working with the federal government on a financial aid card. That would allow students to purchase on the Amazon marketplace at the lowest cost. Could not find anything on the interweb yet.
Even Follett employees that ģet 10 percent discount have their kids buy from Amazon.
The students wait, buy at the bookstore, find a better price on Amazon (and ship quickly using Prime), return to the bookstore. The post office (adjacent to the bookstore on my campus) is a mountain of Amazon boxes the first two weeks of each term.
Follett always misunderstood who its customer was (the student, not the institution) and now the market has radically changed. Follett no longer competes.
No kidding, I saw piles of amazon & chegg boxes in the schools mailroom.
For the six that came into the store and bought, there were 10 who bought off Amazon after looking at our prices and laughing, and were perfectly happy.
Had 6 students come into the store looking for books because the ones they ordered from amazon were either not coming or they have not heard about their orders. 4 bought books that we had on the shelf & 2 did not like our prices. Interesting. Anyone else have this?
Price matching!!!! So students can how much cheaper their books are elsewhere!!!
Students scoff at our prices. New textbooks that have been sitting there since mid-August will continue to sit like doorstops. Sales are down. Don't be fooled. Amazon continues its ascent and Follett will not recover.
Good news...no problem keeping up with the lines...that is also the bad news
