Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

Very clear Stx to lay off 40% employees to survive in next 6 months.

New CEO will implement that step by step. DH will be sold after haircut.

Folks, I was in the 2015 layoff after 38+ years...started in the CDC years. I have never seen better qualified, more intelligent Engineering people in that time than at Seagate. I really enjoyed serving alongside those people. With the exception of retired VP John Weyandt in the 80s-90s; Seagate executive management has been led by self-serving, greedy, incompetent people especially now. there has been no foresight or innovation in their plans or ideas. Please know there are other avenues for you to pursue. Go and find them and enjoy your career outside of Seagate...Godspeed.

Who is/are these DH guys that keep commenting here. I think they are the ones who are the safest because they have been commenting for a long time (and obviously survived). Seagate has had so many acquisitions prior to DH, but I'm just fed up of seeing these DH guys post like they will be next. You (DH guys) have been acquired "recently", therefore, you won't get a good severance package. If you are qualified, just leave the company and find a new job, while you have one.

Honest advise from someone who was impacted recently, and really glad not to be part of Seagate anymore. I mean it was so tough just breathing and working for past couple of years. I came to this forum after a-while and really feel bad for the folks who are still there. Very fortunate to find a job and starting next Monday.

People at Seagate were/are great, don't get me wrong, it's the very..very top management that cannot think of anything other than laying off people.
