What happens if an employee refuses to fill out the i-9 form for the ATS transition...? Just curious.

I-9 is not what you guys should me concerned about.
you should be concerned about what Altice has planned for you once you sign over to ATS.
An I-9 is a federally required form that needs to be completed by anyone newly joining a company. Since you're moving from AlticeUSA to ATS, you will need to go through this "new job" process. US Dept of Homeland Security requires that all employees be able to demonstrate their legal status to work in this country, hence the I-9. If you don't complete it you won't be hired. If you leave Altice altogether and get a job somewhere else you will be required to complete the I-9 there.
Don't worry keep believing in your management team the next form you get you will be voluntarily signing over to the new company and then the fun begins, what's the going lowest rate for a contractor in SL areas that will be your future rate or peace work.
I mean our checks now say altice on them sooo it's funny how they are pressuring us to sign this form so they can just move us to ATS ...
It's a different company. Your paycheck will say Altice Technical Services. It is a contracting company that works for AUSA.
Is ATS a different company or the same ? That's being told now that it's not different ...???
Not being given an option said too much head aches from New York ATS so everyone told to sign i9 so transition will go faster . Nothing has been seen in writing and they say there won't be at all just moving us over with sane pay and benefits ...no mention of full time or anything ...guys who didn't sign are feeling the pressure to sign ....
In SL market was not Gave options. Had alot of techs offered severence. Even though we have already lost 75% of techs for one area. . Told transitioning over to ats either this month or by December. First we was told july 1st but has changed numerous times.
Jabba you are paranoid bro. I'm guessing those techs were not citizens. We have laws in this country that every company must follow. They include a signed and accurate I9.
"You have to fill this out for any new job. Not a big deal. It's required by law. Being that ATS is a difference company you need to fill it out. Don't listen to the idiots on this forum."
Comments such as this is what all remaining Altice employees should very weary of. Some of us will never get it. Management does not and will never have your best interest in mind.
Are you aware that two technicians from Bronx, NY were let go immediately after signing that I-9 form. Rather than giving them the opportunity to make things right with their citizenship documentation, Altice sent them packing!
It's unfortunate that most of us have no idea of the type of evil that exist here at Altice. Yet and still we continue to allow ourselves to be manipulated by them.
The following was taken from the ATS documentation that was presented to all NY technicians.
"With your acceptance of our offer, as a condition of employment and in accordance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, you will be required to complete the Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 the end of the first day of employment. Additionally, you will be required to present a photo ID that establishes your identity and employment eligibility by the end of the third day of employment. Failure to complete the I-9 form on the first day or failure to provide documentation on the third day will result in suspension of employment. Please be aware that the Company is a designated federal contractor and all employees are subject to applicable e-Verify requirement.
"Not a big deal"? yeah okay.
Rest assured that this is a huge deal for Altice. Their objective is to persuade all techs to voluntarily resign and apply for their in-house contracting company. Once there, they can easily standardize and fully implement more cost saving initiatives.
This has been discussed in several previous threads. Just scroll back and do your own research and then make an informed decision.
Here's one link of many discussing ATS.--> @LTuwT7J
Altice Technical Scam
The beginning and the end of your employment at suddenlink and your new position as a contractor. Then that's when it gets fun and your benefits will eventually go away, to the ultimate goal of you doing peace work good luck and, stop lying to these guys? really!! we know who are the liars here
All present ATS techs from Optimum were required to sign I-9 prior to employment. (no exceptions)
Is this a Suddenlink depot that's transitioning to ATS?
Were you all given options or was told that you just had to go over?
You have to fill this out for any new job. Not a big deal. It's required by law. Being that ATS is a difference company you need to fill it out. Don't listen to the idiots on this forum.
Just vote yes and eliminate the stress. Instant weight off your shoulders.
The I-9 form is true a third party sent it out to employees and we were told to just sign it asap...but on the very first paragraph it clearly states typically signed within 1 business day of employment but not before a job offer...hmmm seems a little strange to me. Plus no job offers have been sent out for ATS ???? The word transitioning is being tossed around well on what terms? Since this is a new company we have the right to see it in writing and accept an actual job offer ....since this isn't a name change or something minor ...I'll stay Altice usa as long as I can ...no to ATS.
?
Are you asking a question or trying to say something?
Is the I-9 form true! Where's the proof, or is it just a rumor.
Thats because these A-holes make it up as they go along. I have never in more than 20 years of working seen anything like this before. To say they have NO REGARD for their employees would be a major understatement. Not surprising tho as it seems the are trying to find ways to make people so sick that they quit and leave. Which is illegal by the way. I am no lawyer... but what they are doing to everyone that works there is unconscionable. I pray I get a class action letter in my mail one day. Luckily for me that S hole is just an unhappy memory. I feel horrible for anyone that is still stuck there.
Then you can not transition. I'm assuming you are part of SL area. Anyone that didn't move over and was told they were ok for 5 years was soon given ultimatum. Move to another Depot or voluntarily retire. Only employees unaffected were union. The process is full of surprises.
