Thread regarding Aetna layoffs

Layoffs confirmed

I can confirm that 50% or my team in IT is being layed off December 15th. Just in time for the holidays! This is 2 months removed from hiring some of these people who relocated/bought houses, etc. TERRIBLE senior leadership.

It has more to do with "costs" (as in total compensation/benefits).

Whether you might know it or not, pain is going to be felt in the healthcare industry as businesses are laying off people, and offshoring of jobs due to the increased cost of health insurance, and there's going to be a lot less employees/employers contributing to health insurance... hence, the cuts now being felt in the healthcare industry...

There's a global economic slowdown that's happening... and ALL business sectors are affected, and increases in healthcare premiums are helping matters in the U.S.

Healthcare is the "nail-in-the-coffin..." for the good 'ol U.S.A.
