If in case you are making more than 60K US dollars in the USA per year you are likely to be evaluated to be relieved from duties. The question is when, so be careful and play safe.

On the person talking about certifications, they aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Most with certifications know how to take a test, to memorize useless information.
I have people coming to me with certifications in the area I work in and I have to help them.
It's not what you memorize it's if you know how to logically think and debug a issue.
On DXC 60K I agree with:
Yes, the US workforce making >$60k is in the crosshairs. And yes, most of the US workforce makes >$60k. Therefore sentence one plus sentence two = most of US workforce is getting the AXE.
The history behind the $60K ... This was the minimum allowed for technical professionals by US for Visa holders. The CSC account I worked at, executed what someone got a huge bonus for. They rotated India resources into the US, using L-1/L-3 Visa's. Account wise, they only filled tech jobs with people from India for 4 years. This left < 20% American born team members on the onshore account. Those Americans were underpaid severely cause, management couldnt wait to replace you with a Visa holder. After all a head is a head and you were constantly reminded of it.
Offshore and nearshore will be getting equal pay.... because nobody onshore will be earning any more than they do if Mikey completes this plan.
All joking aside, negotiating pay rises with a large, slippery, ruthless multinational... good luck with that. They will do what they will do and if you moan enough, they'll just off you or your site or the entire country.
Offshore and Nearshore need to start demanding equal pay! You are getting screwed! Especially near shore. Are you not Americans? It is basic economics. When there is more cheap labor(supply) than demand, you get your wages lower. The way I see it, people don't know what power they actually hold over big company tyrants.
60k USD as pay for beginner ...if you go offshore company could hire sr.developer or exp programmer etc and still you could hire 3 offshore FTE equivalent....
Most of US makes more than $60K is accurate. If you don't then you work at a call center. The goal is to leave no one left in the US.
It is the ONLY professional industry that punishes people for experience, education and certifications. You can have 15 years experience with masters degree and the latest cloud certifications, and companies will find a reason to either get rid of you or not hire you.
Freshers are likely to replace oldies. Freshers in, Oldies out
The US cost of living is much higher than yours. Don't be jealous and post fake information. Stop fear mongering.
Yes what is the "source"?
60K that's a beginner in the US. I made over 60K in 2005 and now its 12 years later!
So Lawrie and the L1 - L5 are all on the chopping block because they make well over 60K , what a stupid post
Lawrie, like all upper management in every corporation, primarily cares about fattening his own pockets and increasing his power. He has himself set for life due in part to the WFRs he's implemented, and clearly doesn't need the money. I suspect he's still in the corporate world for power, recognition, and further personal wealth increase.
No, Mikey's one strategy is to line his own arrogant, greedy pockets. And he's got a lot of nerve whining about "overpaid" staff when he's making the equivalent of several lottery jackpots each year.
I don't know if it came out after DXC formed or before in CSC, but Mikey has often produced a graphic showing salaries and pointing out a bulge in the figures highlighting "over paid" staff.
As well as reducing headcount, the other target is to have each role paid as little as possible.
The only "safe" people below layer 4 are either those tied to a nationality restriction or those paid roughly the same as some sort of third world person. Even the nationality restriction is overcome by relocating the role to some cheaper location in the same country or replacing long termers with noobs.
Back in CSC time, they even offered people a chance to move with their job to some cheaper location (minus relocation payment), with a salary cut to boot. Obviously only in countries where labour laws allow such things - ie USA.
The formula is = RIF + (Offshore OR Sh--shore) + rehire = much cheaper workforce and Mikey's next ten mill.
You'll learn eventually, Mikey only has one strategy - asset strip.

What is this based on? Your source? Most in the US make more.
