Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Retiree Medical insurance enrollment

I'm an ERP from 2016 and the COBRA is running out. I'm planning on using the Intel retiree insurance program and paying for it through my SERMA account.

I have not seen anything yet about enrollment. Are they sending out info yet? I don't want to miss the enrollment period or get into a big rush.

Any advise is appreciated

-1jep here. OK, I know I already told you you can't trust what people say here (lol) but I'm going to post some info from the IRO emails. They said your guide will arrive this week. They also said they'd be using the gomyben and retiree sites. They are also doing a pilot this year:

As announced in the October Newsflash, you can now participate in a Pilot of the Hot Topic Forum. The Hot Topic is "Finding Healthcare after COBRA" to get all the answers you need about the various healthcare options available both prior to and after Medicare eligibility. We will have experts available to answer your questions and you will also be able to draw on the wisdom of other participants and answer questions yourself. Since this is a Pilot, we’ve provided a place on the forum to provide feedback. The forum will be active from today through November 30th.

Sounds like you never registered with the IRO (Intel Retiree Organization) @ OP. You should. You'll get REAL answers to your questions there, and receive info that's pertinent to you being a retiree. All troll free.... Not sure why you'd want to ask your serious question in a troll-infected board. Even non-trolls might not give you the correct into (accidentally). Best to go through the proper channels with something as important as medical, IMHO....

Relax. This is what you should expect when an 11 year old finds a copy of "Eddie Murphy Raw" in the basement. He has no idea that Eddie Murphy hasn't been funny for 20 years.

@srv- STFU TROLL! The package included 2 years paid health insurance so there is six months left on that agreement. Go back to your Xbox or PS before Mommy and Daddy get home.

I agree with @fwb. IRMP is VERY expensive and generally for those with existing conditions or those that don't know any better. They admit it's not cheap so why use it as your first alternative? It should be your last alternative unless you have a good reason to use it.

Unless it really makes sense for you, Intel retiree an is crazy expensive. You can do way better buying insurance separately and still use Serma. I used the ACA exchange and it was much much less.
