Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Personae non gratae

Have you looked carefully at the Annual Enrollment brochure's photos? There is one black family, one white woman & child (not a family), one Hispanic or light Indian woman (hard to tell), & one Indo-Chinese looking man (again, hard to specify). No white males at all. A new comer would think that white males had nothing to do with creating virtually all of modern science & technology, let alone the creation & growth of Intel! Look back the recent large layoffs (ACTs), & the new hiring policies, & you get the picture. Selecting brochure models -- whose origin is hard to discern-- is an intentional technique used to cover as many bases as possible. So we know that careful thought has gone into the brochure. It was apparently beneath our benefits activists to insert a white male, at least into one picture. Any doubt where this company is going?

@fsp: Thank you for making the OP’s point, unwittingly (but understandably). You wrote: “….Now it has taken just a few years for white males to go…“. Pardon me, but folks like you proclaim pursuit of “social Justice”, and all that sugar-coated talk, when in fact you have just shown your true agenda. A true equality-minded person would have called for fair representation of those who created, create, and contribute, and not be spiteful. Your true aim is to take over what white males have created, and then exclude them. God help us, when you are numerically in full control. Your post is great for all to see, a taste of what more to come.

@swa At least now you are willing to admit that all the brochures from 20+ years ago, which did not contain any minorities, implied: „Minorities = bad. That‘s the gist of it.“ Funny that 20 years ago, white males kept denying that having a pure white male cover on a brochure had any racist/s-xist connotiations. Now, suddenly, they are completely willing to admit that excluding people from a brochure cover is a bad thing. I wonder why that is.

Funny, if it were an all-white male crowd, OP would be like „I don‘t see anything wrong with this.“ Now that there are no white males, OP is like „Oooh... that is so s-xist and racist! Boohoo!“

Minorities have been pushed aside for centuries if not even millenia, and white males did very little about that. Now it has taken just a few years for white males to go „Oh boohoo, I am a poor poor poor little helpless victim! How could those evil minorities let that happen?“
