November layoffs at AAP?

Everybody has been mentioning the inevitable layoffs for a while now, but there was no time attached to them. Now I've heard somebody mention it will happen sometime in November, and I was wondering if anybody else heard anything about it, or should I just chalk it up to store speculation?

That's what happened to me - laid off moments before my vesting occurred. But mr Pepsi got his $20m. Makes ya feel good. I love watching the boat sink, except I see many of my friends who are left behind in Roanoke the town that continues to loose jobs. Maybe me Pepsi will offer them a free drink as he slits their throats

Wow, laying off the people who have earned stick awards in the past so they don't have to be paid out when they vest. That's cold. Sounds like something a hedge fund manager would do.

Yeah they are going to get rid of the CARQUEST employees who know how to take care of the commercial customers and sell parts but are overpaid according to their pay scale so they can replace them with some 8.50 an hour employee who has some computer skills. This company has the most incompetent management team from the DM's up that I have ever seen.

Attended my region meeting today. Looks like a new record is going to be set on turnover soon.

So...they're going to improve the company by getting rid of proven performers?

I am in Roanoke. Target reductions by year end are those that have stock awards vesting in 2017 to head off payments. The bulk of reductions begin in January.
