Is this normal? I got 6 weeks pay for entire 12 years and got 1 days advance notice. Anybody knows a similar case? I am going to talk to a lawyer. I wish I knew others gone the same path (legal path).

This place is soooo depressing. I’m ready for a package but they refuse. What to do?
I received the max payout of 8 weeks after 30 years of service. I was notified 10 days after the merge and felt I was basically screwed as I would have received much more as an HPE employee. As HPE we were going through constant WFR's before the merge so I was pretty annoyed that mine was held back until just after the merge. I did contact a few lawyers as we have pretty strict employment laws in my state. All stated the only option was to pursue age discrimination which could not be proved. They basically said the company screwed me. No choice but to let it go and move on. The job market is good right now and I honestly believe this was a good thing The company was draining me physically and mentally. Take your payout and move on!! Who knows, the package could get worse in time.
If India is shouting it must be really bad!
DXC technologies private limited is formerly known as Hewlett Packard Enterprise services private limited. This DXC is doing layoff from Day 1. There is no ethic and employees are screaming.
go all out to bring down this stupid company down!
Government bring law to protect employee interest and save their life. It is more stress and struggle to lead normal life again.
I deselect HPCSCHPEDXC at every opportunity. Just Nope.
OP if it is going to haunt you then yes get legal advice but likely you do not have a case. As said elsewhere move on do what’s best for you and if given the chance you can knife dix. Karma is a dish best served cold and at a distance.
Don't waste your money on lawyers. Move forward and do what I did at my new place, be honest about HPE and help get them deselected from the bid process on a hosting outsource deal
It s---s to be laid off, but there is nothing legally they did wrong. Put your energy into wanting to find a lawyer into your job search.
Yes 8 weeks is the new max for severence
You are in US? If yes, thousands of similar cases. Unless your head has been in sand, this is normal course of business (unfortunately) with some deviation in 1 day notice vs 0 vs 1 week etc. Has happened to thousands and thousands more to come. Hope you find something soon.
I got 8 weeks after 19 years. Seems plausible.
