Seagate Technology Layoffs 2018

Things can be better, especially because I hear that we might have job reductions and layoffs in Dublin.

"This site is the lowest cost of all the Seagate sites now by far as the locals are easily paid (no competition in the area and no unions allowed which is fantastic for us)" "

And for this atitude is why people detest working in Seagate springtown, and they wonder why so many wafers are scrapped?? People scrap wafers on purpose with hand prints, wand prints "accidentally" dropping wafers.

Management need to lose that atitude of treating employees as crap and start paying decent and fair wages or the "scrapage" of wafers will continue.

If seagate management expect employees to take pride in their work and care of the wafers then the employees want to be treated the same way as management want the wafers to be treated.

Nonsense post,Seagate have no employees in Dublin,as for Seagate Springtown Derry Northern Ireland the factory production is fully loaded for the next three quarters at least.I expect that at Springtown we will be requiring to recruit more temporally staff going forward if not to actually add to staffing levels overall as the factory is planned for maximum capacity. This site is the lowest cost of all the Seagate sites now by far as the locals are easily paid (no competition in the area and no unions allowed which is fantastic for us) and the weakness of the Sterling versus the dollar. No layoff in the near future at Springtown
