Business Model Redesign

50% of site engineers to be replaced with offshore call center support in the next few years. So much for an american company hiring americans.

XOM is a global company with operations in over 150 countries....Only 35% of employees are Americans. So moving upstream tech support to India will save lots of money and keep my dividends up. Moving XTO to Houston saves money and cuts jobs and overhead and keeps my dividends up. Selling fields, improves cash generation and cuts jobs and expenses. I expect a lot of US marginal fields to be sold in the next 3 years. I expect XTO to have headcount under 3000 in 3 years. XOM headcount will be below 67,000 in 3 years.

poor decision, who will come up with ideas for projects and troubleshoot problems at sites. Don't see call center people from India doing that remotely

That's because if you can walk and talk you can be a site engineer. Not much skill required.
