Thread regarding Saudi Aramco layoffs

Lay offs

I think every expat employee has lost his/her comfort level in this company.

Seems like layoffs won't be necessary this year. It'll be Aramco getting flushed, not the other way around.

Get ready for the next wave of new hires! s---ers

"!No Exceptions!"

That does sound very important.

Someone must have given him a stamp.

"No exceptions". Delivered very importantly.

Except for the spoiled sons of managers and executives. You know - the ones who socialize around the office all day while the work flows around them? They didnt apply. They were beshat into the company.

"Energy giant Saudi Aramco is looking for professionals in traditional oil and gas industry fields, as well as experienced talent in a broad range of positions such as engineering, petrochemicals, geosciences and business management to join its team overseas"

The people who came didn't buy this ad.

No one begs anyone to come, all people apply. No exceptions.

Why wouldn't they? Working in a rudderless ship with people who begged you to come then resent your presence when you arrive is a toxic environment for anyone.

Saudis are very smart. After breaking all of the retention incentives the ONLY one left is the golden ticket out. That's great for productivity.

Funny thing is there is exactly zero getting done. Everybody's job-searching. So much for that whole employer of choice thing. Its so bad they have trolls in Saudi entering good ratings for the company on the US / UK rating sites just to get their ratings scores up.

The ones who say sore loser are the power-drunk saudis dropping in to flood the site with raw sewage before rushing off to beat the housekeeper and run families off the road.

Yes November. If you do not have a plan B it's too late. Thank you KSA for the big house you bought us! Ha Hahahahahahaha

1000? Where do you get this number from?

Still wonder how expats still stick-up-for Aramco, telling all how wonderful. If you get the notice kids are out of school immediately, this puts you in a mess. Really poor treatment, but what do you expect.

Before some American says go home sore loser........ I am still an employee, but over 1000 expats have been put on a list, and November this year the axe falls again.

So even those expats with lips on butt, will be crying.

True - what is the point of having a performance review system, when everyone knows the outcome from the outset

Yes labelling "poor performers" as every US payroll employee within a year of retirement eligibility does not build a relationship of trust.

Just 3 days before Hajj they gave us the lay off notice. We were given only 30 days to wrap up everything out of which 15 days were non working days due to eid holidays.

The company attitude was ruthless to the employees and their families. The middle management is using this lack of work reason as a black hole to take revenge and sink anyone into this hole who argue or protest against their biased and unprofessional behavior.
