Does Cisco Pay People for Great Reviews on Glassdoor

There's just no way 80% of employees would ever recommend Cisco to friend (unless they truly hated those friends). And how could anyone approve of Chuck? Is this how one gets saved from LRs? By writing a positive review?

Parse the wording. Glassdoor says that a company cannot remove a review. However, Glassdoor can remove a review. For the company. And they do.

Most employers know how to play this game. The Glassdoor guidelines are broad enough to make an argument about many reviews that are initially approved. The threat of legal action is also used. Glassdoor also wants to please a current or potential customer. - YES, reviews are removed. Not just for Cisco, but all companies. Glassdoor is not a true reflection of a company. Beware!

Use the filters in glassdoor to find a more realistic rating.

  • Engineering

  • US only

Much of the uptick is due to non-engineering and non-us postings.

@OP I don't know if Cisco pays for positive Glassdoor reviews, but I am convinced it pays to make negative reviews disappear. Just keep an eye on any one or two star review with some substance for a month or so. Chances are it will vanish.

I am a BDM working in Lawerenceville and make over $200K. I live in a nearby country club and enjoy work when not golfing. Cisco is better than working at Coke or Cox.

I see a lot of people wearing the THANKS JOHN shirt, and I know of atleast 3 people who have used #WeAreCisco on a personal social media account. Instant loss of respect

Cisco is not a bad place if you are outside Bay-area. For anyone working outside Bayarea, low cost, Cisco salary and benefits are great. Making 150K in RTP, you can live a very comfortable life. Like CA, how about working from Sacramento or central valley with same salary and benefits. Add flexible working environment, WFH, making it great place to work for many.
