Thread regarding Pearson PLC layoffs

As the previous person mentioned, leaving was the best thing I could have done. The phony RM will turn on you in one second for the silliest of reasons. I am not sure how this continues to happen, but I suppose it's because no one feels their feedback is safe in an exit interview. It's such a small industry I didn't feel safe telling them why I was bailing. If you bad mouth the RM it will likely get back to her. My suggestion, have Robin (one most everyone trusts) call all of those that left Pearson in the Central over the last few months and see if they will talk. Most do not trust the GM because he is oddly close to the RM.

As for the wonderful DM that was demoted and left Pearson because of a cancer diagnosis, this is beyond disgusting. I heard this and thought someone was just being silly, but then heard it from 2-3 other people that specifically heard it from another RM. Are you serious, how about just admit you bullied that person so badly that they finally left. Unreal, get some new RM's or GM's that treat people with respect and don't cry every five minutes over complete nonsense. Buying people gifts and telling them you love them will not work forever, be "authentic" for once.

Wow! I just heard about this site from friends who are still at Pearson. Leaving Pearson is the best decision I have ever made. My work life improved. My home life improved. My health improved. I lost weight. I have more time to do things I enjoy. I sleep better. All because I no longer have the toxicity and vile actions of the flamingo pirate whatever “regional manager.” She is being paid to treat people like the scum of the earth who are her lowly subordinates. Do yourselves a favor and get out.

I don't blame the reps for putting false information into OneCRM. The company waits to see how tracking and bookstore orders are going every year before they deliver goals. It's like asking someone to run a race and then providing them the qualifying time after they have already run 95% of it. When leadership stops being shady, maybe the reps will stop playing the game too.

There isn’t one thing in OneCRM that is accurate. Not one. First off, the regions don’t even follow the same rules/general guidelines. 2nd of all, “tracking” is a complete joke. Most reps are tracking 100% enrollment with a bundle package which is completely false info. 3rd of all EVERYONE lies and inflates for the dumb a** contests they run. At the end of the day the joke is on management because they have the worst information possible. They don’t want reality, they want what they want to see in OneCRM. Which is why Fallon has bad information and has no clue how bad things really are in the market.

Mass Exodus in P&C Central Region Due to Bullying by Manager should be the title of the next article. I wish someone would wake up and see this! Everyone under her is leaving. I will be gone as soon as possible. It really doesn’t matter what I say about her bullying, intimidation, and downright ugly behavior towards her reps. No one will speak up because we are literally scared to be the next one she targets. Notice how many reps she puts on “success plans.” I personally haven’t been on a success plan, but I have friends that have been. She makes their lives TERRIBLE. She tells them that they won’t succeed on the plan and might as well quit. Then, when they do, she lies about why they left. Anytime we ask a question about ANYTHING (it could just be needing some clarification around something), our hand is slapped, and we are told that we need to trust her. She always brings up “organizational trust.” Really? We are supposed to trust our managers, but every minute of our day is micromanaged? I don’t know where there’s any trust in that. You don’t trust us, but we should just blindly trust you? Especially after you have bullied so many people? I can think of at least 9 people who have left primarily because of the regional manager, but no one has felt comfortable enough to tell HR that’s why. When I leave (hopefully here in the next few weeks), I won’t speak up. For what? Nothing will be done. IF (and that’s a very big if) anyone were to say anything to her, she would just fake cry and lie through her teeth like always. I do not know on what planet her behavior is acceptable, but hey. What do I know? I’m just a little rep. I’m supposed to trust her and follow blindly as I watch her ATTACK, BULLY, and INTIMIDATE other reps. Oh, by the way, when did it become acceptable to go into OneCRM and change reps’ pipelines so you can win contests? You all do know she does that, right? That’s how she always wins. She changes her reps numbers and tells them to leave them until the contest is over. How’s that for organizational trust?

I heard that story. I felt terrible about her having cancer until I saw she went to a competitor like a week later. I asked my friend on her old team and she said that the RM made that whole thing up to avoid having to answer questions as to why turnover in her territory was so out of control. Lying about something like that is unconscionable. How can you possibly think that is ok? Leadership will just shrug its shoulders as it always does.

They demoted a manager, she quit because our regional manager is the worst person ever, and then said manager lied about her having cancer as the reason she left. Does that count as a layoff?

How many sales managers have been laid off since they made this announcement?
