Do you only have folks that have to be micromanaged?
Believe there are ops managers for the different product lines, sounds like they need to step up in addition to hands just getting out there and doing their jobs.
So who will run daily operations if there isn't a manager?
Weatherford Management S---s!! ALL ABOUT THEMSELVES!! The company is going down!! They're hiring dumb--sess to fill experienced positions. Just a matter of time.. Competition is chomping at the bit! This company S---s!!
Either way WFT city or field sales reps can't sell any jobs or mantain what little work they have. Just interested in lying and cheating on SalesForce !
Believe what you're looking for is field sales. Issue with WFT is you can ask just about any client, they have not seen a sales-hand, unless of course it is in their main office. WFT sales seem to have issue getting out of the city to visit an actual field location.
District managers are closer to well head and real time sales apposed to middle mgmt who dont know one oilfield town from another. Being local is key to aquirring and maintaining business repetative sales. Trying to sales products from houston or san antonio in west texas towns with no local support doesn’t work.
For the US they are doing away with Area Managers as well. Rockies AM will be the new Geozone Manager. The rest below that get pushed down a level with some of the country managers dropping to single product line management.
Just like everything else with this company, it rolls downhill and is just knocking some folks off on its way to the bottom.
District mgrs are just turds on two legs.
My experience with district managers is they lose more work than they bring in.
I would agree that most are worthless. Their purpose is simply to keep an eye on folks.
Talking only of the US as I do not have visibility in other areas, if the Area Manager as well as the Product Line Management is engaged the position of District Manager is not needed. A better way to view it is a Operations Manager with an ego.
If you hire and train quality hands and empower them to do a job things move along. Yes, you do need management above them but not to the extent WFT currently has, the issue here is NO ONE is truly held accountable - it is a pass the buck system down to the hands that are micro-managed in most cases and get sh** on when things go wrong. With little control it is no wonder they have trouble - not to mention there is still very few carrier paths laid out for the lower level folks.
Given, most large companies have their issues, it just seems that WFT has everyone's as well as a few of their own unique issues. It is amazing they have made it this far and for this long.
District managers are as useful as ashtrays on a motorbike
Axe them all
Need to get rid of all completions managers in Texas. They are a complete joke !!!
