Im wondering how the work culture in intel is different comparing to Qualcomm. Im a staff engineer with 10+ years of experience with MS. Does anybody know how that lines up with intel grades?

Qualcomm can be more satisfying in terms of having more efficient processes, better tools and fewer friction losses between disjointed teams in different sites. Intel has a generally more open and friendlier culture (you can actually finish a sentence and are not interrupted after three words with a „Nonononononoyouarewrong!“). In the Intel mobile department, you will wonder though why 10 people are doing the work of what 2 would do at Qualcomm, but you always have to make sure that you don‘t piss off the guys at the other sites by just doing something without involving them. Heck, at Intel Mobile you can‘t wipe your a-- without making sure that e.g. the Bangalore teams were asked to contribute.
Also, compared to Intel, Qualcomm still has more of a „get it done“ culture, while at Intel, you have a lot of „I would like to understand this completely before we start“ kind of managers. Both companies have their fair share of bureaucracy, but Intel is worse, also due to the influx of former Siemens managers. But lots of paranoid micromanagers in general.
So if you want a more efficient workplace but don‘t mind working with a---h-o-l-e-s, then Qualcomm is the better choice for you. If you want a friendly environment but don‘t mind working overtime to make up for major inefficiencies, then Intel is better for you.
Actually, both are sh--. Stay out of the mobile industry altogether! ;-)
Pay wise it's equivalent to Grade 8. Work wise it's equivalent to Grade 7. So not sure if Intel will give you Grade 8 or you will find it easy to get a good focal review if you join at Grade 8 .

Qcomm is much smaller than Intel. You would be a Sr Engineer here.
