In other companies people worry about layoffs, at Capital One we worry about layoffs AND redeployment. Every year or two the company decides to shift employees around, demoting a bunch of folks and cutting a bunch more. It isn't performance based, that's for sure, it's just a cheap way to save some money. And unlike layoffs, we are always certain new one is right around the corner. And then people wonder why morale is down...
