Thread regarding UnitedHealth Group Inc. layoffs

UHG/Optum Tech: What happens after re-deployment? Layoff?

I was recently told that I'm being "redeployed" and I have 30 days to find another internal job, but no one can give me a straight answer for what happens after 30 days if I don't. Can anyone provide insights? Does that mean I'll be laid off with a severance? Thanks.

In a nutshell that means you are being termed in 30 days. You will have no job. You have 30 days to find a new job, which at UHG is next to impossible as often it takes them 2 weeks to start the interviewing process and another week or 2 to start the 2nd round of interviews.

If you want to stay at UHG, work your contacts friends in other departments you may have made connections with about opportunities. While you are reaching out, get references lined up while you are still in the building, if you can get them to put a recommendation on linked-in.

ALSO LOOK OUTSIDE THE COMPANY! See what your worth so if you do get an internal position you know what salary is good and what salary is their "low ball desperation bid"

Not looking outside the company or not getting references /recommendations obtained while you are still in-house is a recipe for a much harder job search.
